Who here still has unlimited data?

I don't think it's his norm. My high was last month (54 GB).

I average 10-20 GB a month usually.

Still, that's a lot of data used. More than slightly over lol

I don't think so. Wasn't that upgrades only? Also Verizon is more expensive than what I pay now.

Ah might have been. But you still could have gotten the $210 price and paid etf on the spot, which would leave you with $560. The Verizon Note 3 is factory sim unlocked, and can be used on tmobile

I have been thinking if letting my unlimited data go, and get a DROID Maxx as a birthday present to myself. I really want a new device, and the Maxx fits the bill. Anyone still has their unlimited data or gave it up to get a new phone?

I still have mine. I'm with AT&T. Every time I upgrade they allow me to keep it. As a matter of fact I called them yesterday and asked if I decided to use my upgrade would I be able to keep it. As well as if I utilized the "Next" program. The store rep replied, "yes".
I honestly will wait until next year to use my upgrade. I'm curious to see what awaits in 2014...

Why not wait till the summer and see what HTC puts out then? All joking aside, you'll be waiting for a while if you are looking for the right phone. Just get what you want now that'll last for a while and get something else later. It's what I do.

You have a very good point! I used to pay full price for whatever drew me in at the time but lately I've been less inclined to upgrade. I've tried everything and honestly the only thing that has satisfies me is my LG Optimus G Pro. I was in love with the Note Series but never really found myself using the stylus. I just picked up a 60" LG Smart TV and the way the phone and tv work together holds my attention. Albeit some what limited these days.. LOL
What I'd really like to see in my next phone is a camera with the Lumia 1020 type optics on a 5.7 inch Android device. Wishful thinking....

You can ude the device installment plan. NOT EDGE. The original one with $24 finance charge.

I still have it. I just buy my phones at retail price. I don't want to worry about overages. I stream music and netflix all the time.

The DROID MAXX dropped to $199.99 on-contract, $499.99 off-contract.

On my Droid Maxx I used up to 8+ gb a month Phone use only, and 30+ when I tether .. I just recently bought a Iphone 5s to test out and see what the big fuss was.. With the Iphone I hardly youtube, hardly use the internet. I have a feeling when a Verizon rep says "blah blah % of users use less then 2GB a month".. Maybe those people are Iphone users rofl.. The internet browsing experience is just not up to par with android. Nice phone, only froze on me twice while trying to turn on iCloud.. Battery gets about 22 hours Stand-By and about 5 hours of "use" whatever that means.

Still have unlimited here. I've been paying full retail price for all my devices since my BB 9930. Bought the S4 the other week in person at the local VZW corporate store. Sales rep tried 3 times to persuade me to switch to the new share plans. I flat out refused...."no thank you, I want the Galaxy S4 in black and full retail price please" (with a quirky smile and kiss my @$$ look). Of course I knew she knew why I wanted to pay full retail when she looked up my account, but I figured she had to try convincing me to switch.

Share Everything has such a negative image with me I don't ever want to switch to it. Mainly because I don't want nor do I need Unlimited Minutes. I want Unlimited Text Messages and Unlimited Data with the 900 minute plan. I can barely use half of that 900 in a month so what's the point? Verizon tried to convince me once and I flat out said "No, please stop trying to convince me because I prefer not to hear it. My mind is set and was set before I walked in here and I'm aware of all the so called benefits of Share Everything".

I'm a nice person but please don't act like I'm a sucker.

Share everything plan is a lot more expensive for me. Even using the lowest 500mb tier, I would pay $210 for my 5 lines of service. Based on my peak monthly usage, I would be paying over $5,000 a month. With my current family share plan, I am paying $140 and my line has unlimited data. I don't have unlimited minutes, but it is unlimited for me as I can use over 10,000 minutes on my 550 minute plan. Texts I use Google Voice

Exactly why I won't switch. I use about 16 GB per month on a legacy one line plan and I'm not about to pay them extra for the ability to do so.

I am the biggest advocate for not losing unlimited data. I was able to absorb someone else's line through "assumption of liability" (hint: anything I put in quotes, copy it and put it through Google, or even put it through the search function on this forum...it gets talked about a lot here and elsewhere on the Internet.) The AOL line was done this year...Verizon rep who handled it was pissed, but she had to honor not taking my unlimited data away. :D

So I have three unlimited data lines. I went through Hurricane Sandy and was without power for 8 days. Our phones were the only thing keeping us sane during that ordeal (thank God for my car charger...that was super clutch!) I don't care if I use 1 MB (megabyte...) a month, I'm never letting unlimited data go. Verizon Unlimited Data is a lot more valuable than the best phone on the market (and right now, that's either a Note 3 or if you like Apple, a 32GB 5S) I wouldn't give up unlimited data for any phone, period.

Thanks to the "verizon alternate upgrade" (remember my hint and include the quotes in your search) I got my Note 3 without losing my unlimited data, as did many others. If you look at my Note 3 unboxing thread, the first pic I have is my Note showing the Verizon widget with unlimited data shown as clear as day! (Coincidently, the photos were taken with my Droid Razr Maxx I get from work...lol.)

Morale of the story: Don't give up unlimited data, under any circumstances. If Verizon ends up taking it away from every customer, that's when I go to T-Mobile and save some money. Because at that point, being on the best network in the country just won't matter to us.
