Who is fully committed to getting the Bionic?

If it's not in testor's hands then it's safe to say it's not the Stratosphere, and not releasing on the 8th along side the Bionic. It would be in the hands of testers now if that were the case.

I don't know the answer to that and lets just say that it would be possible for the GS2 to launch September 8. I'm not at liberty to speak about these types of things but lets just wait and see.

I'm NOT hinting of a release on the 8th or saying the Stratosphere is the GS2. I'm only saying its very possible. That's all I can really say.

If the Bionic has a lock boot, as the DX does then no I will not be interested in this phone regardless of the specs .

Need a size comparison of it now after seeing pictures of the side. Looks kinda chunky. I am using my new every two that I have been holding on to since last August, want to get the phone that rules them all at least for a week or two.

Does anyone expect that Verizon is going to "sell out" of this phone when it is released? I guess my real question is, if I don't pre-order this guy and wait a few days to see what the general reaction is, do you think I might not be able to get this phone for a few days (or weeks or months)? Thanks in advance...

Not to doubt YOU preach but the GS2 is not in testers hands right now. Somebody is pulling your leg.

CK this is the guy from my old van pool. That work for Verizon Corporate Office in Greensboro, NC. No reason why he would lie. If he is it will be the first time. Since he been on point with the DX and The release of the Thunderbolt...

Like I said I'm not doubting YOU preach you're just giving us info that you receive. I just seriously question his claims (in testers hands)

You should start looking elsewhere. Moto's not going to unlock the bootloader...it's not their way. I've never felt like I was missing anything with my locked X, so I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with the Bionic as is. What do get with an unlocked bootloader anyway...super powers...a jet pack?

The only way any of us could answer this is if we could read your your palm while you asked the question. If you pre order, and don't like it, take it back.

No, jet packs are strictly for people willing to pull-up roots and switch carriers to get a nexus device.

Anyway, I tend to agree. Although I wouldn’t shake a stick at being able to dump a lot of the VZW garbage and such.

Overall though, the new blur (as seen on the Droid 3) works really well for me.

For one there is no SBF required if there you get into a bootloop for some reason .You can start the phone directly in CWM .
For one example of what I mean:
The incredible you just hold down the power button and volume rocker and it boots right into Hboot from there right into CWM, then restore your backup,,, which elimates the need for SBFing the device :)

If you get into a bootloop with the DX for example: stuck on the "M" screen on the boot animation repeating over and over ,,you have to SBF to restore your device.

Doesn't rooting your phone void the warranty and such. Then doesn't it also void your insurance if it breaks or something. Of course, if you broke the screen and messed it up pretty bad, would they be able to tell that you rooted it?

No.. becuase at that point you report that you LOST it... not broke it. Then destroy it fully. If that device ever comes back on the network you're in trouble. if you broke it, you get to send it in. Same cost insurrance wise for you. :) It was more of a hassle when I got mine replaced due to walking into a swimming pool with it in my pocket and in hindsight, i should've just said i lost the damn thing.

No wonder we pay so much for new phones, ETFs, and Insurance! :(

Phil & GBill talked about this during the last Podcast. I would go over and listen to it now.

Technically you will void your warranty, but most manafacturers won't care, as long as the problem with your device is not directly related to you rooting or hacking it.

Just know that you technically void your warrenty if you root, and use caution and commen sense and you should be okay.

I would NOT recommend this. This is FRAUD, and illegal.

See my last post above.

All you have to do to return your DX to stock is sbf it back

So, if I did root my brand new bionic and it started having problems, I could prob get it back to the way it was. At least enough to validate Moto or VZW recognizing my warranty/insurance?
