Who is fully committed to getting the Bionic?

Play nice cory. Some people don't care to be beta testers and that's all we are when buying ALL new first Gen LTE devices. He brings up valid concerns and that goes with any new device.

I don't disagree with him, and he does bring up valid concerns; my comment was based on his "lecturing" attitude and speaking down to the other poster.

Then give the Bionic some love and Vote for Verizon's best Android phone if you haven't already.

The Bionic just made the Top 10!
1. Sprint HTC EVO 3D
2. Verizon HTC Thunderbolt
3. Sprint HTC EVO 4G
4. AT&T Motorola Atrix
5. T-Mobile HTC Sensation
6. AT&T Samsung Infuse 4G
7. Verizon HTC Droid Incredible
8. Sprint Motorola Photon
9. Verizon Samsung Droid Charge
10. Verizon Motorola Droid Bionic

...but it is just barely hanging on to tenth place!

You already have your own whole thread dedicated to voting for a phone that isn't even released yet. Isn't that enough? Do you really need to spam other threads with this nonsense too?

Oh, I don't know. Some of us care about other things as well. Like will the phone lock you out for several seconds when switching from 4G service to 3G or back again. Does the battery last more than a few hours? Does it have some other fundamental defect still?

Others of us also think about other phones potentially being released within a few weeks of the Bionic and making trade-off analyses.

If you buy phones based off of paper specs alone, go for it. But, many of us like to know the phone actually works before we buy it, and we also like to determine its value in relation to the overall market at the time before we buy.

I'm not going on paper specs alone, I'm going on a brand I know to make good phones. They've put way more work into this phone than any other phone I've seen recently. The battery life is going to be turds on 4G all the time, obviously. But the bigger battery and maybe a little Motorola magic can compensate for that and make it last a considerable amount longer than say the Thunderbolt. The phone shouldn't lock you out from switching between 3G and 4G, phones don't normally lock you out to switch between 2G and 3G do they? There really shouldn't be any real defects at this point, and if there are, Motorola will fix them with OTA updates. I have yet to see a manufacturer make a phone that has no defects at all. Some are minor, some major, but nothing is ever perfect.
Any other phones being released within a few weeks of the Bionic are, like you said, POTENTIALLY releasing then. We have no idea, they could release in December for all we know. I personally am tired of waiting, and want to put some trust into Motorola, a company I have bought great, long lasting products from before.
I'm very committed to buying this phone, as I believe it should be the best phone on the market for at least a few months (maybe something is better in someone else's opinion, but they're entitled to that opinion, as am I). I do know something better will ALWAYS come out, so I've decided to just stick with one thing and hope that it will stack up to whatever comes next.

Unless something better comes out between now and release day I am. I'm ready for a new phone now and I'm not going to wait on rumored phones like the Vigor that might not show up for another 6 months.

Plus I went by the Verizon store and played with a Droid 3 and X2 for a good 45 minutes total to check the dreaded screen out and I guess I have bad eyes cause the screen looked fine to me. Some of the people saying that text is pixelated so bad you can't even read it are either liars or idiots.

I agree. I can read everything on the screen perfectly, and everything looked great.

The Droid 3 is awesome and the new Motoblur has won me over. The only pixelation I see is in the gradients but it's more than forgivable.
A lot of people are ret@rded and go with what they read as opposed to what they see.

So you going to enjoy beta testing GS2? I know I will for bionic LOL.

im so gonna get bionic somehow... im from Indonesia where motorola is not a popular phone... here all the attention goes to LG ,Samsung, Apple and Blackberry...Moto shares a small market

so when this beast are release, its definitely going to be my next upgrade (im using droid 2 at the moment, and loving it)

I am sort of, depends in what happens at the Samsung event. I can't wait to get rid of my Charge. I got a slightly faulty one but I've just been living with it for the past few months because I thought the Bionic or the gs2 would come out sooner...

Why didn't you return your Charge and get another one if it is faulty?

Heh! I beta tested the OD Droid I guess. Bad battery door was the only hit I took and they gave me a better one free.

The European folks have been Beta testing the GSII for us pretty hard. I have been lurking their forums and it seems they have good reason to love the device.

Its gonna be lots of fun or very interesting between now and Christmas eh?

All these delayed release's and coming devices announcements and such may just be the MFG's battling it out toe to toe right in front of us.

I got my popcorn ready for the show.

How was the crow Gapi?? You never told me.

And yes, this is going to be an interesting year. I was 100% dead set on the Bionic, now I am to the point of "if I don't get concrete release or specs on the other phones coming out" then I will get the Bionic. However if we do get some concrete release and specs on the GSII (only if LTE) or Prime, then I may have to say goodbye to the bionic... :'(
I know I will / would enjoy the Bionic as an upgrade from my OG droid, but I am patiently waiting for more information at this point.

I'm looking at the plate of crow it but not gonna eat it until she sings! I want to touchy feely first. Then I'll let you serve it.

Great question. I guess because I keep thinking that either phone will come out any week so I don't feel like doing a return just to turn around and do another later. I should have returned it a long time ago....
