Who is sticking with their Evo instead of upgrading to Evo 3d?

I went to Sprint Store to have them look at my HTC EVO and consider buying Nexus S 4G.... He told me that Sprint getting so many complain about Nexus S 4G...... He recommend me not to get Nexus S 4G so I asking him when will HTC EVO 3D release.... Guess what he told me possible on 8/11... I hope its come true and told me it would be much better than Nexus S 4G cause of Dual Core.....

This thread has helped me realize something. The crowd that uses the EVO is the edge of technology crowd that is happy to drop whatever they are using for the next best thing, and yet the EVO did something to this crowd; it made them think that maybe they had found something worth keeping. It also began building a brand loyalty that no one but apple has been truly successful at in this current technology market.

I bring this up, because it is just crazy that HTC changed the EVO 3d so fundamentally from what worked in the EVO. Downgrading the camera (and yes it DOES matter) to cram in a second. No kickstand. Moved the charging port to the side. Yes it is dual core, but changing the fundamentals is just plain crazy.

I would have paid a lot of money to upgrade just for dual core and dedicated shutter button in the same exact package, but now I will not because I love the EVO formula, and I will be starting all over again. It astounds me that HTC did not see the formula that could have built an apple like loyalty and keep it. As of right now, the Galaxy S II looks to be much more compelling (even though touchwiz blows).

100% Truth. Why fix, what wasn't broke. But...I'm still Evo3D bound.

Sticking with the original only because sprint screwed me out of my upgrade

I got hosed too, after 8 years of loyalty. I wonder if Sprint realizes what that does to a person. I went from being the guy that always defended them to the guy that now tells everyone what my loyalty earned. That couple hundred dollars they will save changed me from their best marketer to their worst.

I would have stayed true to HTC at least if they had left the EVO alone and simply improved it. Now I am loyal to neither Sprint or HTC.

I have been running Gingerbread 2.34 since it became available and very happy with the evo. That comes from a Guy that always updates the day a new hot phone comes out. I am really undecided about the 3G because of how good my evo has been

I love my Evo, but hate Sprint, so no. Plus, I refuse to buy any further HTC devices since the Evo had a few known issues with it that Sprint and HTC never really acknowledged and tried to hide a few times.

That and the fact that I don't see the big deal with 3D tech.

Plus, I still love the Evo

I am not entierly sure just yet. I will make my finally desicion once i can have a hands on with the Evo 3D. Until then i am def leaning towards it.

i see no compelling reason to burn my upgrade on the EVO 3D and move from my original EVO.

I will also be sticking with my original EVO since I am not eligible until next year now. I've been with Sprint for 8 years and got a new phone every year until they switched the premier plans. This really sucks. That was the best thing about Sprint, getting a new phone every year. The guy who I sell my old phone to every year is not going to like it either.

Am I the only person that thinks the 3D is a little homely? After getting my wife's Nexus S, and seeing how slick it looks and feels I'll be holding out for either the Nexus 3 or the Galaxy S 2. In the meantime the EVO is by far the best phone I've ever had, and I have no real need for anything else/better.

I have loved my EVO, but I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Nexus S. However I am keeping the EVO around ;) The Nexus S is a huge improvement over the EVO, at least from my testings. Graphics power is the biggest thing, but vanilla Android is just my preference. Feels so silky smooth and fluid with zero lag.

Wow, you were so close to having the choice of either the GS2, or the Nexus 3 in the near future. By the time my upgrade comes around in early November (I was clinging to my Pre- a little too long) I think the choices will be quite impressive. But that Nexus 2 is very nice indeed. I play with my wife's phone every day after work.

Sticking

Had my EVO since launch date and am quite happy. I still think it is the phone to beat by all competitors. It sets the standards now. :)

Sprint Within which is the GS2 for Sprint, probably won't hit till around Sep, Oct time. Nexus 3 is slated for a Dec release, which most likely will release GSM first and then a CDMA variant will follow in the next few months. I'm personally a fan of AOSP devices, and the Nexus S was right up my alley. I will get the Nexus 3 when it becomes available to Sprint. I'm not pulling the trigger on dual-core devices yet until Android supports it fully, and optimizes it. Google mentioned at IO that ICS will be dual-core supported and that the system will take full advantage of them. The Nexus S is plenty powerful for me at this point. The jump in GPU performance was enough for me over the EVO 4G.

I lost my upgrade anyway, so I have to stick with the Evo. Not a terrible fate and I suppose it could be worse.
