Who is waiting for the S26 Ultra?

may i ask if anyone saw anything about when they might release the S26 Ultra?

late January? February? March?

it's so strange that every single year, my lastest phone would work generally well until around late summer or fall, maybe around Sept or Oct. then, something goes wrong and it takes frequent rebooting to get things going smoothly again. yet, when i upgrade annualy around 1Q of every year, the new phone using smartswitch to transfer data over would work smoothly and be very fast for a few months.

sigh. i wonder if that's a hidden way they th ey make our phones have built-in planned obsolescence?

thanks!
Well I watch videos on You Tube all every day about the 26 LOL! Now they are saying they are back on track for late January to order and Feb release date I believe. We own our 24U and I'm excited about upgrading actually. The 25 didn't interest me but this does. The QI2 wireless at 25 if it really happens and being able to buy cute cases with the magnet built in. The 60W charging and privacy screen. I just got a bonus at work so I will get us both one when it comes out me and my husband. This is no big deal but it excites me they are now saying there will be a purple one. I saw the leaked wallpapers .I just hope Samsung has some good pre-order deal at least free memory upgrade and I want to try the new Buds Pro4 and get a good charging dock maybe a trio that does the 25W which I know will be expensive.

Researched things quite a bit this weekend. January 28th seems to be the most likely date for the S26 series line to be released. Nothing is confirmed, but most of the articles out there point towards that date.

the link in my last post above says that they crippled the S26 and S26+ in order to make the S26 Ultra look less bad!!! i wonder if that's really true and that the S26 Ultra is really that lackluster?

I read that weird how they are doing that and giving the Ultra AI features and not on the other 2. Usually it's all models and the older models like the 25 would get it months later. But as far as I know and what I believe is the 60W charging and QI2 25W wireless and privacy screen. And bigger aperture in camera I mean it's ok specs but for me it's exciting and I am getting it and really want to see what the purple ends up looking like. I was going to try out one UI 8.5 beta maybe when it comes to the 24 I did that with one UI 8. It's out for the 25's now.

Yes I read that also it's on my hubby's birthday and the release date is mid Feburary I read probably by the 11th or 12th I just know I hope it's before our Anniversary on Valentines Day cause he's taking me to see Brett Michaels.

It really doesn't make sense you would think they would want all 3 models to do well. But a lot of people won't care some just don't like big phones. I never used to and wasn't a Note fan at all tired one the 8 hated it too big. But than I tried a pop socket and love the Ultras now and watching videos on the big screen. My husband was asking about the screen. I said I wasn't familiar with it but it said it will have M14 OLED and some other feature he said OLED is good.

Jeff Springer of Sammy Guru in his latest video says he estimates the release date will be either January 21st or January 28th. Typically Samsung releases the new S series line on a Wednesday, which would be in line with both dates being Wednesdays.

I would take January 28th!

if someone comes across a particularly great youtube video or a site with an article that's particularly great about rumors from reliable sources, like that Korean analyst who year after year has accurate leaks, please kindly post the link to the video or article here please.

it's so hard to sort the useful videos/articles from most of the useless ones out there!

thanks in advance for sharing!

Actual release date or day to preorder? I watched some of his video last night in bed and never finished fell asleep. I RSVP'd for the mystery gift I did that when I got my watch 8.

Samsung has not officially confirmed the date for its 2026 Galaxy Unpacked event. However, multiple recent leaks and industry reports strongly suggest the event will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, in San Francisco.
This event is expected to feature the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S26 series (including the S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra) and focus heavily on new AI capabilities.

Rumored Date and Details
  • Date: February 25, 2026
  • Location: San Francisco, CA
  • Products Expected: The Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra smartphones
  • Key Focus: Advancements in Galaxy AI technology
This projected date is later than the typical January launch window Samsung used in 2024 and 2025, a delay attributed to internal adjustments in the product lineup. An official announcement from Samsung is not expected until closer to the date, likely in early 2026.
For official updates, you can monitor the Samsung Newsroom or the official Samsung YouTube channel."

He predicts the "launch" date will be one of those two days, with phones being available in stores/shipped to customers two weeks after the launch.

I'm kinda waiting to see what the S26 lineup looks like. I'm currently using the S24 Ultra and believe it or not I'm getting kinda tired and bored of it even though I still owe 12 more payments on it ,I guess I get bored with phones way too easy anymore. Anyway one feature of the S26 I would be interested in is the Magsafe capability and built-in privacy screen but not sure if that feature is only available on the Ultra and not the others. I say this every year but I'm really interested in going back to the plus size this time around. It's cheaper and less bulky and easier to fit in my pockets than the Ultra.

we really have reached peak smartphone, haven't we. everything is iterative, isn't it? (outside of Folds or Flips)
I agree. I used to upgrade often to chase new specs, but now I think phones are at a point that I don't need to upgrade unless my phone has a catastrophic hardware failure. Otherwise, the OS and security updates are sufficient for future use. I don't see any issues with lag or incompatibility with software and apps. Therefore, I don't need to upgrade unless hardware fails.

I was looking forward to MagSafe on the Fold 7 but once I got it, I found it disappointing and never use it. I wanted to be able to use existing MagSafe products to try out... wallet maybe. battery packs. But I hate that they mounted the magnet so high you can't use any accessories out there that are square shaped because it hits the camera bumps.

I can use battery pack but I have to rotate it about 10 degrees to get it to grab the magnet and charge so the battery pack sticks out when charging so I just go to cable. For me the only thing its good for is MagSafe pop sockets I guess and round magnetic charging pads which I use neither.

Renderings of the new phone look like it will still be placed high.

I am curious to hear if many here use the MagSafe on their phones.

I hope the rumor of a white S26U is true. I don't think they will do it like my S22U but I loved the gloss bright white with the polished frame.

Honestly I could still probably rock my S23U and not feel I am missing out on much.

I would honestly like the flat screen so I can use a tempered glass instead of the film... such a difference I forgot when I got my Fold 7 and put a piece of glass on it. But honestly I probably wouldn't notice a dramatic performance difference and probably not miss any of the AI features they only include on the newer models.

I mean my S23U has 10x optical zoom over the newer ones at 5x so I really haven't played with the newer models to see if the cameras are better than mine. My ZF7 has the 200mp blah blah they tout but I can absolutely say pics on the ZF7 are not as good as my S23U.

And my S23U has Bluetooth features on my S Pen. (I never use it though lol)

Sammy Guru is reporting the last 24 hours they feel the reports out of Korea appear to point towards a February launch now for the S26 series. No date in February is definitive, could be as late as February 25th, as other forum members have reported that date previously.
