Who thinks the Rezound will get ICS Friday?

You can kick my puppy but you are messing with my birthday! Get this straightened out! I want ice cream with my cake! lol

Sorry, it was pretty tasty, though.

It actually just struck me. Verizon hasn't ever started an OTA on a Friday. I don't think they ever will. It would just be too horrible for business trying to support an OTA over a weekend.

I'm not totally disagreeing with you, but consider this: 1) VZW already has support available 7 days a week, and 2) an OTA over the weekend, when most of us aren't working, would actually be the BEST thing.

Push that OTA, VZW. We're ready. :)

Re: the previous comment about the slower response to the "Check New" -- I noticed the same thing. I'm sure plenty of people are hitting the servers with "Check New" requests; causing the longer response times.

Bliss Dairy Cake Batter ice cream. Sorry, but if you're not in New England chances are you don't know how epic that is.

Figure this thread should be turned into something useful, as the Rezound is assuredly not going to see an OTA ICS update today. Sorry folks. The good news though, it's pretty easy to root and install Scrosler's ICS ROMs, which are based on leaks.

What about the Verizon Wireless employees who are off this weekend? Perhaps Verizon figured this weekend wasn't best after all. :'(

Try getting some Bassett's ice cream , Gadzooks or Gadzooks blanc both are inspired/designed by my favorite morning crew "Preston and Steve"

Your issue was covered in point #1 - VZW does not take weekends off, like the rest of us do. They're a national service provider. lol.

However, I forgot one thing -- maybe you were thinking it and never said it -- it's Easter weekend. Yea, that kills everything. Damn.

Definitely not an OS OTA on Fri. but I believe they have issued maintenance updates on Fri.

I never bought it happening but it had an air of plausibility if considering the Sensation XE rollout. I doubt a rollout on 4/6 was ever within a mile of Verizons timetable. This report has always leaned more heavily toward releasing a fart, more than ICS, on 4/6. I doubt they would've even concieved of a rollout over a holiday weekend.

Actually i have seen 1 OTA update iirc which was for a Palm Pre Plus

This is one of the reasons why the Apple sheep stay loyal. Everything is much more organized at Apple. They announced the IOS5 update well in advance, and sure enough come that day, there was a fresh OS waiting to be updated.

Yea, but we can't blame HTC for this one. The rumor was dropped by Best Buy, not HTC.

Outsiders speculate about iOS updates just as much.

I don't think your example really applies. All of this speculation was based on a rumor created by Best Buy if I understand correctly. It could have been a sales incentive scheme from Best Buy to clear inventory of Rezounds and RAZR MAXXs, push speculated info to potential customers that they could buy the devices and not wait long for the "holy grail" ICS.

When a phone carrier officially announces an OS update, the update is usually on time.

I dunno, from what I recall with VZW and my DX when an update was announced it was pushed on that date. Whether or not the update was functional was a completely different story :P

I also make use of the key word official. Rumors are one thing, an official of a date announcement is another.

Well I think it's pretty obvious at this point that we aren't getting ICS today.

I walked into best buy mobile today and the manager showed me the employee news site and showed me how they can create a fake document. He searched for it right in front of me and it was not there. He said either it had been pulled or is a fake. He said that he hears about fakes once in awhile.

I can't seem to stop the tears after the razr and today rezound lies! lol.
Really though I'm pissed! I'm tired of the fakes! I don't always buy into these things, but every android site jumped on this best buy bull. So it seemed legit. :'(

Unless an official date comes from VZW or HTC, and can be traced back to them, then don't buy it. Pretty easy to live by :)

Not that I'll ever buy another HTC since they stopped putting SD card slots and replaceable batteries, but they gained no good will by keeping quiet on this supposed update. Neither did Verizon, but they were never any good at keeping their customers updated on facts, so rumors are sure to fall through the customer relations crack. With HTC's income on the skids, you'd think they would want to get some good PR, but Verizon has such a lead on th customer count, they could care less what people thunk of them as long as they don't go elsewhere... and they won't.

I just wish there was some level of transparency on the update especially on HTC's part. Let us know what's going on for better or for worse. Let us know when they give it to Verizon so that we know how long they really delay the process. I would be much less impatient and much more forgiving if I knew what was going on and not left in the dark.

Exactly. They, back in November, promised an ICS update. Imagine bringing your car to the mechanic and they tell you it will be ready in 2 hours. You call back in 2 hours and they say, "its not ready and we have no idea when it will." Poor customer service, right? HTC and Verizon are essentially doing the same thing to us.
