Who's getting the new Pixel Fold?

If the rumours on price here are correct , £1700 ( $2200 ) with exynos G2, it's a tough sell. Along with the no same year model trade in rule Google has here, I don't think I will buy one straight away. Might get one later to try once they have ironed out some of the inevitable bugs.
As always price and offers will be heavily skewed to the US market making it a swing and a miss everywhere else .
Maybe the non beta next one will be a better proposition.

I might try it but I doubt it will be able to replace both my 7 Pro and Tab S8. It also depends on the trade in for my 7 Pro. I can always sell my Tab S8 to offset the cost. But I doubt it will be good enough. I'm also not too sure about having a phone that is double the thickness. It also seems too high of a price and probably won't hold its value for reselling it a year from now.

I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly but it's the app developers that would have tweak the apps to take advantage of the screen space. Most apps transition well going back and forth between external and internal screens on my Zfold.I've not been following as foldables don't appeal to me (at the moment), but the question for me is: will Google be making software tweaks/adjustments to take advantage of the extra screen real estate?
I've not used a foldable device (yet??) so I have no baseline comparable; but I do know Samsung and I have to imagine they've got all sorts of software goodies exclusive to their foldable devices. A foldable Pixel that runs the same exact software as my Pixel 7 Pro just doesn't sound like something that's needed.

Prices are ridiculous. $1799 for the fold with only $400 for my Pixel 7 Pro? Tablet is even worse. No trades and only 12 month financing. Hard pass on both the fold and Pixel tablet for me. I have the Tab S8 256gb that I'm very happy with. I will never pay that much for a plastic screen and a phone almost double the thickness of a regular phone.
And no stylus of any kind. I'm really shocked that they aren't accepting trade ins for the Tablet.

I pulled the trigger I'm getting $700 for the flip 4 .. I will sell the free watch... And keep the pixel fold alongside my S23 Ultra
I understand their pricing it the same as the Galazy Z Fold 4... To undercut it could lead to perception (whether true or not) that it is 'cheap' not just in price but in relative quality. But Samsung will give as much in trade for a 2017 Galaxy S8 as Google will for a 2022 Pixel 7 Pro 256GB. Samsung positions their prices high to offer 'amazing' trade value for phones to position it as a better deal; Google should have been far more aggressive with the tradein on late model Pixel phones (like they were with trade-ins on Pixel 6 series towards Pixel 7).
The Pixel Watch is a nice piece of gear to be included for free, but a lot of Pixel's customer base is prior Pixel customers, many of whom already have the watch, so it is of little value. If you go through the pre-order process, you have the option of the non-LTE or LTE version for free, or can say 'no thanks' - they'd have done far better to have offered alternatively a Store Credit towards a future purchase.
I may be crazy, but I suspect that the Fold (after its initial quirks are worked out over the first 2-3 months, as with every Pixel product) be reliable and well-built (for a foldable). Before the launch I was interested, but the financial incentive simply isn't strong enough to match up with the discretionary funds with which I'm willing to part.
Guess I'll be holding off for at least the 2nd gen.
On the other hand, if any of you wants to buy the $1,799 Pixel Watch and don't want the Pixel Fold that is included with it at no charge, I'll be happy to take it off your hands

Guys you could buy a cheap high end Samsung phone from two years ago and get more trade in value for it than what you paid for it (eBay, Swappa) and then also sell the brand new Pixel Watch that they offer for free with the Fold and that thing would have cost you way less than $1800 when all is said and done.
