Who's going to give their Honor 8 up for a Honor 9?

I'm normally not a fan of white phones but the pearl honor has I'd be okay with. I'd try and get a red skin for it which should look killer against the pearl white and not use a case. I haven't been using a case for my S8 and have a Red skin on it. If I don't get the Pearl it'll definitely be the Blue. Again I just keep thinking about knowing the honor 9 is out and if I should wait but I honestly don't see it being released until December before Christmas as a marketing plan for Huawei. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Yeah I know the feeling. Unfortunately, without a release date, it really just ends up being a guess.

With that said, I would guess that if the release was imminent, that they would have already announced it?

I know man! I feel all left out in the cold. Funny I have a really nice S8 and I spend most of my time here on the honor 8 forum. It's what I know best and I know Huawei honor pretty well. I know the software quite well as I love it. EMUI is by far the best you can get. I've found not anything to be like it. Some would say it's like IOS but if anyone knows it would be me since I used exclusive apple since the iPhone 5 was released. I didn't touch another device until well after the 6s was released then that was when I jumped ship to Android and then to finally find out about honor and actually use the honor 8 as my daily phone for a long time. I miss it to be honest even as nice as the S8 is I still miss my honor 8.

If you miss the honor 8 then you should definitely get it again. However i would think about other phones that you might get like the note 8 which should be out next month or the iPhone 8 which is probably coming out the month after.

Yeah but after getting this S8 which is a true all together flagship device, I still miss the honor 8 so I think I'm done with the high priced flagships moving forward. For example the honor 8 offers pretty much everything one needs out of a phone at half or under half the price of a true flagship. I love the S8 don't get me wrong but something about the honor 8 keeps me coming back to it. A lot of it is EMUI but the device itself is pretty dang solid through and through. I'm hoping I'll get $600 for my S8 then I hope I can find an honor 8 on sale in a 64g. My luck the timing will be off. Best I can find right now is Amazon for $359. Anyone know of any other place I can get it cheaper than that at?

I know but I'm having trouble unlocking my S8 now. I thought I had it unlocked but now I'm unsure. I may take down my for sale post due to this which will put off my purchase of the honor 8 unfortunately. I'm bummed out now. I should have held on to my last honor 8 but I thought I had to have this S8 which don't get me wrong it isn't a bad phone but it just isn't my honor 8 either. I've got to do some more digging on the unlock of my S8 so stay tuned!!!

I would suggest that you buy the Honor 8 now and sell the s8 even if locked... Because the note 8 will be launching in less than a month and waiting a little bit would put you in the same crowd as those selling the s8 to get the note 8.

I'm locked down to sprint right now which kills me. I can't seem to get it unlocked either. I'm doomed either way as Sprint doesn't help me at all. I may have to wait on the honor 9 to release and save up some cash. I don't know what to do. I'm taking it to a friend of mine who is a computer mobile tech wiz tonorrow and seeing what he can do with it.

The lowest listed s8 unlocked on swappa is $509, sprint $559. I would sell it as the sprint version unless for some reason you wanted to make less money.

That would leave you with more than enough money for the honor 8 and even enough for the mate 9.

I'll be going for a bigger honor phone next time, maybe the replacement for the 6x as I'm not too fussed about cameras now I use a dslr. Next year the 6x replacement will likely be plenty fast enough.

You don't have to... You can always keep it as a spare, if your finances allow.

I'm headed to a buddy of mines house so he can figure out why I'm not getting the APN setting when I install another SIM in my S8. He used to work as a top level engineer for apple in Santa Clara so he knows his stuff. I'm just waiting on him to get home. His time is valuable so it's hard for me to get him to look at my stuff but when he does hes able to do amazing things. He's already unlocked my device and flashed it to remove any trace of carrier branding and bloat ware. Now I've got to get his time once more to figure out why I'm not getting APN settings when I install another sim in my S8. Once I get past this I'll be able to sell it and get my hands on another honor 8 which this time I hope to be in Pearl White.

My buddy has actually got to flash a new drive to my s8 to gain access to the Apn settings which I think he's going to do tomorrow for me. XDA said it's about a 50/50 chance with the S8 in what you get in regard to apn settings. Anyways I got the latter part of the 50/50 so my apn settings are not accessible unless I flash a new drive then at that point they become available so only then will my phone be fully unlocked for any SIM card which leads me to say I hope he flashes mine so I can sell and grab another Honor 8 or a Mate 9. I'm on the fence between the two but one thing I know they both have is EMUI which is my all time favorite interface. Hopefully I'll get my S8 solved and be back to Huawei Honor very soon.

I'm definitely not going to upgrade for at least another year. My phone's working flawlessly and does everything I need it to do without a stutter. The camera is also really good. It is comparable to the quality of an iPhone or Galaxy.
