why am i unable to update software for my samsung galaxy s6 edge

[AC Question]

when ever I try to update it gives an error message written. Unable to update the software. a network or server error occurred try again later. However I have been trying again several times and no changes. Please note that I will be using wifi which is strong and working correctly excpt for the updating of the soft ware. My android version is 5.0.2 then

Welcome to Android Central! Is this phone originally from a carrier? If so, are you still on that carrier's network? A carrier-specific phone typically has to be on that network in order to successfully update OTA.
