AC Question

OK so here is the problem... I have 6 "favourite" contacts on my Galaxy A3 phone. They all have a picture, so that it pops up whenever I call them, or they call me. That works without a charm. The same for non-favourite contacts.

However, Whenever I receive an incoming call from an unknown number (not a private one, simply someone I don't have in my contacts yet), a picture also pops up. It is always a picture of one of my favourite contacts, but it's not them who's calling.

You can understand the situation when I answered the phone with "Hi Mom", and it was the insurance company who was calling...

Any ideas why this is the case, or how I can fix this? I've tried google and the search, but I couldn't find anything related.

Kind regards

Welcome to Android Central! Try booting into Recovery Mode and wiping the cache partition, which won't erase any personal data. Follow the steps in this video, but instead of selecting Wipe Data/Factory Reset, make sure you select Wipe Cache Partition. When complete, then select Reboot System Now.

Great! The system cache partition is where temporary system data is stored. Every now and then, some of that data can cause problems with performance or app function. I'm not sure exactly why--perhaps the data gets corrupt, or just conflicts somehow. Clearing that data out manually can fix it. It's rarely needed, but is still a useful troubleshooting step whenever something odd happens.
