Why are pictures I'm taking with my GS7Edge not saving to the gallery?

I have taken some with the front and rear camera. They show up in the small preview box but when I click on them in the gallery there is just a big question mark. This is not cool! I take pictures of things that are important to me. Thumbnail shows up but not the full pic...Any way to get the camera to do what it's supposed to consistently?

I am also having my pictures saved to a memory card for further information.

Just out of curiosity have you tried to take photos and have them save to internal memory to see if it corrects the issue? .... If it does I would suspect a memory card error, then you could reformat the card and see if that helps... If it doesn't then I would try a different card....
