Why aren't my downloaded photos showing up in the gallery of my Samsung Galaxy S5?

Downloaded photos not showing up in the gallery of the Samsung Galaxy S5

When I download a photo from email or bluetooth on my Samsung Galaxy S5, it doesn't show up in the photo gallery.
If I go to files and recent downloads and it will be there but not in the Gallery and there's no option to move it there.

Welcome to Android Central! In the Gallery app, tap Menu, and see if there is a Refresh option. Does the photo show up after refreshing?

If that doesn't work, use a file manager app to copy that photo to either the /DCIM/Camera folder or the Pictures folder.

Copying photos to DCIM/Camera does not help as well

Since I don't have Gallery any longer on my Nexus 5, I use a third-party gallery-type app, which has created a Downloads folder or album. Try that.
