Why can i not get my Android phone to properly tether?

I have a LG ZTE Sonata, My provider is Criket, and my computer is a Macintosh running Yosemite. I am trying to tether using PdaNet paid version. I've installed it on both my computer and my phone, I've also installed the LG phone driver support files for the macintosh. But when i attempt to tether either by usb-cable, Wifi hotspots, or Bluetooth. I either never connect, or told that no device is connected even though i can view my pictures off the phone on the pc.

Tethering isn't up to the app, it's up to the carrier. If Cricket requires a tethered account to tether, you'll have to pay for a tethered account.
