Why can't I send a message when my keyboard is open?

My Droid Turbo 2 just started doing this weird thing. When I am in a messaging app that needs to use the qwerty keyboard, it won't let me send the message. As soon as I close the keyboard, I can send. It does this in google messaging, hangouts, facebook messenger, and the messaging app that came with the phone. I have restarted my phone twice. I have looked at all the settings and tried to change keyboards to no avail. Any thoughts?

This sounds like a frustrating problem. I'm sorry! Is this glitch happening when you are using a third party keyboard app, like SwiftKey? If not, try downloading a new keyboard app and see what happens.

I just started having the same issue on my s6. It turned out that there was something going on with facebook trying to become my default messaging app. I uninstalled facebook and problem was resolved. I then reinstalled facebook and there is still no more texting issue.

I have a Samsung Galaxy J3 and my phone just started doing the same thing about a week ago!!!! I am going crazy. It really sucks.
