Why cant i use the volume button to take pictures when videoing after the pie update (samsung s8)?

I used to use the volume to take photos whilst videoing in landscape all the time as it was a practical way to do it. Now I cant. Is there a work around? And is there any positives to this hideous looking and battery draining update?
