You're hearing what you want to hear.

And with all due respect your arguments are the ones that are silly. Several of who SELL PHONES for a living (and therefore talk to a lot of customers) have explained to you again and again what we hear from customers but you dont want to hear it because it does not fit with your worldview. That is your choice of course but it wont change anything.

Customers want bigger phones, it's as simple as that. For some it is because phones are being used more and more for media, for others it is because they are easier to type accurately on now that physical keyboards are a niche, and for some it boils down to "bigger is better" for no logical reason at all.

Big screened phones sell, even at higher prices and specs. Small screened ones with high specs (and the corresponding higher price) simply dont sell as well. I'm sorry but that is just how it is. You can twist and argue that any way you like but it does not change that fact.

That's crap. The customers who are vociferous are the kids that want bigger screens to play games and watch videos. Those who want a mid-sized phone are too busy performing productive activities to go into stores and check out the latest and greatest cell phones, and voice opinions. When is the last time you saw a VP or executive of a non-tech company pull out some big ol'honkin phone? OEMs make the bigger phones because there is some demand for those, but also because it is easier to put all of those high end specs into a larger frame. It is more difficult to do the same in a smaller frame. But Apple did it, and sold 5 million phones in the first month. Size does matter.

Im plenty productive on my rocket. Corperate emails, army emails, time sheets, daily reports, pictures of damage to equipment, remote control of bas computers for equipment testing while im in a ceiling or mechanical room, managing permissions, account creations, password resets, im sorry you dont know how to use a smartphone to be productive

Whoo that adds up to 15 million in 90 days compared to samsungs 20 million in 100 days and thats assuming the rate of sales didnt change for apple im sorry again that you seem to be making terrible arguments

Convert... I just figured it out from your last post. The games and media hungry folks are the kids and teens. I'm a 34 year old medical case manager who cares about email and productivity first. And most of us older folks (not old lol) care more about communications first before we care about media. Thats why VPs dont go totin around with big doofy media devices.

For me, portability is most important and i think thats why apple will end up winning the enterprise game... Unless bb10 pulls out some sort of miracle in the next quarter of course. But even RIM knows this and their platform is not going to follow this "kid friendly" condition Android OEMs are going through right now.

You just said the reason why they haven't invested in putting the lastest and best hardware in a smaller phone lately. The OEMs just don't have any reason to believe a large enough amount of people would even care if there is high end specs in a small phone. You don't need a quad core and 1080p display to do basic phone functions and media after the fact. Apple on the other hand, that one iPhone needs to work for people who do basic functions and for people who act like they are trying to crash their phone with all the media they consume on it.

Limitations are what you make of them you seem to believe that some of these decent smaller phones are crap just because they arent flagships when in fact they are great running devices also if you root the capabilities of said phone increase exponentially you are so stuck on hardware alone to realize software can create massive impacts on performance often eliminating any real issues you may "think" exist

I have repeated this same statement to posters many times. It appears they are unable to look at the total number of features they require as a whole. They want a perfect phone in a perfect size. Unfortunately this is not available. Manufacturers would need to make 3 versions of every phone they make. The iPhone has no removable storage or battery. For some this doesn't matter but for some this is a deal breaker just like the larger screen is for people who want smaller screens. There are 3 phones right now that can do everything anyone needs yet they just want the sgs3 in a smaller phone. And it ain't available. Move on people. We know you are upset about it.

When you name me the last high end 4incher that didn't sell well, then I'll concede to your point.

The HTC one S hasn't sold as well. I know you are going to say its because the One x has better specs but if size was so important to soooooo many people then sales would be better. The One S is no slouch. Reviews have been great yet consumers opt for the one x because the "want" a bigger screen.

You clearly have never been to a meeting with executives recently. I was at one the other day and 3 of 5 users had larger android phones. 1 on blackberry and 1 on iPhone. And the conversation was certainly on how happy these people were with their larger phones. The bb user also said they would be getting an android for their next device. People were showing everyone the cool new things they could do on their s3's. No one said they were too big.

Plus Apple only has one new phone available. Samsung is also competing with itself in the Note 2 as well as Motorola, HTC, LG, nexus etc. So this is the true reality of his fast people are moving to the larger devices.

You couldn't be more wrong in this post. Beyond the assumption that only kids use bigger phones but you may not be aware that a large number of the original Note sales were to the senior community that "need" a bigger screen to see and type in. We all have different needs. Yours are only yours, not all of ours.
You can Google it but there are many sites suggesting the Note phones as well as seniors requesting this phone
