Why do my pictures look dull on my Samsung Galaxy S5?

My pictures in the Samsung Gallery app are a lot duller than when I took them or where I downloaded them. It's strange because when I minimize the Gallery app, you can see it revert to the richer color version of the photo. I don't get it? So when I take photos with my camera the preview of it never looks good because it previews from Gallery. It's kinda greyish looking and not as vibrant. How do I resolve this?

Make sure the conditions under which you're shooting the pictures maximize the color saturation. If you overexpose, you'll get washed-out pictures.

The question is whether it's the display that's washed out or the pictures themselves. Copy a "greyish" picture to your PC and look at it. Is it still "greyish"? Then you're overexposing. If not, it's the way you have the display set in the S5. In Settings/Device/Display, look for Screen mode and adjust that so you get more vibrant color.
