Why do people hate the Galaxy S5?

Re: Why do people hate the S5?

Someone's use or non-use of something should not (and does not) automatically disqualify their opinions from having merit. Humans are highly subjective creatures.

This is like judging a book by its cover lol

I never ever pay to use the S5 but if it were free and I could still have my iPhones I'd be willing to use it sometimes.

Yes. And unfortunately, it goes both ways, as evidenced by your "have you ever used it" query. You have no basis to love it as I have no basis to hate it. Subjectivity. See how that works? It's a beautiful thing.

Re: Why do people hate the S5?

No.

I am in neutral side.I can't judge it until I get my hands on it in a store or through friends etc.

As A GS4 owner , I find it amazing that they included both removable battery and SD-slot inspite of water/dust resistance while disappointed with the increased dimensions in terms of height especially.

You can be neutral , right ?

You can comment on things like how big the device is or things like price or something like availability etc.

Your earlier comments undermine your purported neutrality. And I quote . . .

This is what I think :

-Most of the haters are bunch of insecure fanboys who are about to explode in forums and comments
-They hate it and want others to hate it too (pathetic attitude)
-Hoping to "convince themselves" how their purchase is better

This is how most of the hatred goes around the forums :
I can say that "Galaxy S5 looks cheap" and actually that is a very well written argument when it comes to pure objectivity but I actually never care about looks when it comes to my smartphone , So I basically used an objective statement to reflect my hatred even though I am not bothered by it subjectively.

Hatred appears to be valid but many-a-times , its quite irrational.

At the end of the day , People will be buying Galaxy S5's and enjoying their devices while haters will be drooling over the forums and comments to hate it without enjoying their non-galaxy s5 purchase.

Those are not the words of a neutral third party.

People who don't enjoy will return the devices right ? I just didn't want to make sentences much longer with minute details.

edit : if you see my iPad example later , I had to include every minute detail and sentence construction was f**** up because of edits and brackets etc.

More than likely. Unfortunately, that fact does nothing to discount your previous use of highly subjective and biased language, thus gutting your neutrality claim.

English isn't my first language , I am also doing some other work here instead of sitting idle waiting , So probably I am not much focused.

I went back to the comments to re-read them and you are right about my tone/way of expression through words.(Don't expect my english to be perfect or grammer to be right)

My view of haters seem to be a bit different but still you hate the device and you will come as a hater.I think there are various types of haters.

I think people like you come under "ignoring" category than haters. You will follow news for sometime and comment on it , later you will move on to next thing if you don't like price or availbility or certain aspect.

If you are interested , you will be still participate it GS5 discussion or else move on.

In my opinion , haters are much more like with a motive of going over every forum and comment section just for the sake of hating it with highly aggressive way.

Does it make any sense ? Are you ignoring type hater ?

It does when they complain about things like bloat, performance, how the device feels, durability, etc. These are things you have to use a device to see, it at least have met it in person 😊

There's a lot of reaching going on in this thread from people who don't like or want the phone, and they tend to want to have it both ways if the other forums are any indication (being very defensive about the M8 yet bashing the S5, for example - some of those same posters are here).

Some people ask what's so innovative about it, and then turn out to have not even read up on the basic details of what the device brings to the table.

It's a big mess, but a thread like this is inviting contention so I'm not sure either side has a right to complain about it. Agree to disagree and leave it at that.

This is not a school for linguistics. Most posts even with typos or grammatical errors are easy to understand so the parsing of language and digging for ways to spark further debate is both childish and exhausting to other readers. Too much of that goes on in tech forums.

It depends. I was jazzed up for all three of the big new devices (S5, M8, Z2), but came away generally apathetic to all of them. For me, I tend to like devices that elicit certain emotional responses. None of those devices do that to me (yet).

My apologies for taking care with precision. Since the only way we communicate here is through the written word, I appreciate precision and purposeful distinctions drawn by the use of different words, phrases, etc. so as to understand the other person's perspective. Next time, I will take care to try and not offend others, regardless of what words, phrases, and tones they choose to utilize.

Second part: i wasn't speaking specifically to you. Just making a general observation without cluttering up the thread with an instant second post under that one.

Bravo. Precision writing is so refreshing. I love to read when people can clearly make their point while being grammatical correct, etc.

Some people like TouchWiz.

I know, it's sounds like a myth to some others.

But many people simply prefer it. The features are useful and in areas that others don't tend to look.

I had an iPhone 5S. I know people with Ones. In cold environments those metal phones get super cold and shut themselves down routinely. I've never had that happen with any of my Samsung phones.

The cameras on Samsung phones have been all around better as well, except maybe the S3 vs the One X. I heard HTC is putting 5MP cameras on the M8 which is still not detailed enough when you're far from the target in the shot and need to crop.

I agree. Samsung is doing something right and even though they use "cheap plastic" they really pick it up in other areas (camera, battery) that are things people put high on their list of wants from a phone. Now if HTC boosts the battery and really improves the camera, maybe this year will be the year things change. But with HTC they always seem to leave 1-2 things out that really hamper their chances to make that nearly perfect phone.

There are several things I've always liked about TouchWiz, like built-in ability to add and change fonts. Once the plethora of aftermarket back covers hit the streets I'll feel a lot, I mean a lot better about the S5.

I just feel "safe" when using Galaxy device , I don't know why lol.

One CNET guy wrote an article and only he could really understand what I say :

In the end, what I found most remarkable was how "safe" I felt with the phone. That's the best way I could describe it.........I've felt like another phone [GS4] kept me just as all-around "safe" as the iPhone. Oh, one exception. The S4 can't help with my Clash of Clans addiction

I must admit that no mobile internet device has allowed me to feel safe but I am very much content and more with my devices. I hope everyone at least feels the same.
