Why does my LG G3 screen flicker and fades to darkness?

Well, all my enthusiasm has vanished. The damn thing started fading and becoming unresponsive again, even after a "repair" by LG. So I sent them this: "I received the phone back and began to use it. I was hopeful that all was fixed (what does the repair "LCD (Main/Sub)" mean?) But 24 hours later the same problem started again - the screen comes on, then after a few minutes it begins to fade to black and the touch screen is no longer responsive. I am really disappointed in this. Apparently no one checked this out before sending back to me. More wasted time. FYI - I am not alone with this problem. See the thread at "527306-why-does-my-lg-g3-screen-flicker-fades-darkness" for a growing and vocal list of disappointed customers. I have loved the phone, but its unreliability and the fact that you said you fixed but you really didn't is very frustrating. I would like to have an actual LG person send me an email with an explanation and your plan for next steps."

Somebody please got with any solution... i run 5.0 to my lg g3 d855 and yesterday this issue started.. i dont know what to do i swear im shocked.. i barely bought this phone and im from albania.. they barely offer service from here.. please if anyone fixed this can you share with us ? :'(

Hi Guys...
Totally frustrated with this.. Have tried all the available Roms thinking it a software is ue as it started only after the lollipop upgrade, I am now on Resurrection Remix but the problem still persist.
It started with a sim error and now sim doesn't detect and SD card malfunction. So thinking of changing the Sim/SD slot but not sure it will sort the issue of the screen blackout.

Just hunting through forums but this doesn't seem to be a wide spread issue so nothing much out there.

PS: The phone is out of warranty.

Mine had the same problem all day! Yesterday was the sim card today was the screen I just deleted utorrent and now it is working

Any updates on this? Did anyone actually manage to get their phone fixed?

I just got myself a RA# but I'm waiting on getting a new phone before I send it in so I'm not phoneless.

Did anyone have to pay for their repair costs? or Pay for a refurbished phone?

As I mentioned previously, I let LG know that I was not happy that my phone came back with the same problem again. (Actually the problem behavior was a bit different post-repair - after the screen fades to black, if I wait a moment, I can hit the power button and the phone will start up again for a while. So I did have some functionality. But still very annoying.) LG responded by sending me a mailing label so sending it back is free this time. I just sent it back on Saturday so I am awaiting their response.

So weird thing and probably wishful thinking. I installed Clean Master and cleared up the system cache and all caches for all the apps. Also deleted a bunch of files so that I have more space on the phone (I had reached ~1GB of free space only).

So far today I haven't had any issues. Which is rare, I can get a couple of hours or more of glitch free screen time but today its been most of the day.

Figured I would just put that out there...

guys please has somebody tried to set the stock android kit kat.. was it solved or still fades ? please give some feedbacks

Hi
Tried downgrading to the original 4.3 Kitkat LG Rom but was facing the same issue.
its more like a hardware problem i guess..

Mine, like many others, was a hardware problem. They replaced the screen. Thankfully, mine has not relapsed like some..

so bro you saying you had the same problem, you changed the screen and now the problem is solved ? if thats a hardware problem that has nothing to do with the screen technically...

Maybe your problem is different but I reset my phone before I sent it back to see if it resolved the problem and it didn't. It was on lollipop. Sending it back to LG fixed it. They replaced the screen.

My wife has the same phone and hers never had this problem. I figured if it was software, this would be the issue for more people and it would've happened earlier. But that's just my experience. Good luck with yours.

Got my phone back from LG. They replaced the screen again. Updating all the apps. So far so good.

maybe you didnt have the same problem bro..im reading people saying they changed screen or they sent to lg twice or they downgraded to kit kat and still the problem is there.....thats probably hardware problem... listen i live in albania im out of warranity....how can i contact LG for help and to take the phone to lg ? please help

Experiencing the same problem, been talking to LG online chat and they had me put it in safe mode for a while, didn't work. Unfortunately I can't even send it in because the nearest dealer for my carrier is 2 hours out of town, going to try and FDR and see where that gets me, as terrible as this sounds I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one experiencing this problem.
