Android Central Question

So, I type out a message, hit send, and its fine when I hit send but then all of a sudden once its delivered, it gets jumbled and adds a url hyperlink from google maps. Some like "maps.google.com/maps?q=loc"
It adds it right in the middle of a paragraph, and jumbles my message up and its INFURIATING. Ive tried finding a way to disable hyperlinks but cant seem to even find an option for it. Can someone help please?

I'm sorry, it's just aggravating seeing ppl try to make it into a users problem. No I do not allow location anything, for exactly this reason, all the bells and whistles are mostly useless and just create problems. I have tried as you have said and I am still experiencing the problem. Do you know where I can go to speak directly to the ppl who can fix this? Preferably without having to give my email out again?
Nothing to get aggravated about , you posted in someone else help thread , which is ok just post your question we will do the best to try help you , be flexible and try to use some of the suggestions in try figuring your issue out .

It would be helpful to know if turning off the Automatic Preview option (as I previously suggested twice) gets rid of this phenomenon.

Where is the answer? The exact same thing is happening to me. It does it randomly on any text. This phone was free with the new t mobile deal, is this why? This is unacceptable. The locations mean nothing. One was to a hair saloon in Portland, one was completely meaningless l,of the two I actually looked at. There doesn't seem to be a trigger word or anything, it inserts itself usually around the first line of text answer now! No I am not switching to Google message, just get basic sms texts working.

same thing is happening to me. it goes to some hair salon, sometimes in a diff county.
i have tried everything.
have u found a solution?

Have you already tried turning off the Automatic Preview option that has been suggested multiple times in this thread?

Hello, I'm also experiencing this exact issue on my OnePlus Nord.
I don't have the Automatic Preview feature mentioned in the thread.
I've tried to use Google's 3rd party messaging app, but had separate difficulties trying to get it to sync.
The link most recently manipulated seems to be attached to the word, "Ayyy!" Like the others, I didn't type the word "Place:" at the beginning of my message. The message was also sent out of order, and this happened after I pressed send.
I've included a screenshot of where that link leads to as well.
I am based in Dallas, TX. USA. The link suggests multiple locations, most in Central or South America.

Welcome to Android Central! So you're saying that you're using the stock messaging app that came with the phone, rather than Google Messages?

Here is the solution.
Go to settings
Go to Location
Tap “App access to location”
Tap on Google and only allow while using the app

I did this and no longer have seen this problem again.

So I had this exact same problem and TMobile support was absolutely no help in the slightest, because the actions they suggest in attempts to solve the issue are just, - anyways. Download a messaging app or service such as messages by Google llc from the play store and then set it as your default messaging app. The problem is with the phones factory system messaging app itself and not any of these far fetched things they suggest as possibilities. So far it's worked perfectly for me. Hope this helps somebody out there.

I also have this issue. Having combed the forums I've noticed it seems to be dead locations Or in many instances including mine, African American Hair Salons. For what reason this is happening I have no idea. Phone settings, blah blah. Why is it black girl hair salons?? So bizarre.

Why is my REVVL5 turning my text messages into a google location at a hair salon?

Every time I write a text it looks fine, it says send still good, then it converts to a google maps of a hair salon that I've never been too. I noticed that it was happening when I wrote long text, but now its starting to do that even on short messages. It pisses me off because most of what I say is missing from the text and I can't remember it to type it again. I wanna trash this phone, it always sucked to me because it always flips over to RTT and people can't hear me.

why does my Revvl+5g keep messing up my messages and adding a location URL when I send a message

My location is turned off completely but it doesn't care. Every 3rd text I send turns half of the message into a pin in the middle of the ocean. If u click on it it says "Loc:No" which takes you to a ton of Hair salons with "Loc" in the name (which is why so many say they are black hair salons lol). I have tried every suggestion, have so much time in this for months now. Its embarrassing if you don't know the person well u r texting, and soooo frustrating. I've resulted to giving my family paper notes (for things like grocery notes). We just survived hurricane Ian, have no power or phone, can ONLY text for a week now so I'm frustrated with this texting issue.

Sorry to revive this after it being dead for a number of months, but this exact issue has happened to me as well.

But, I have noticed a pattern to some effect in terms of why it does what it does. It seems to do this with multiple paragraphs, whereas the first paragraph is somehow identified as an address while the second paragraph is identified as a description. Not sure why it does this. Makes things a little bit silly and screws over longer messages.

Oh dear. didn't see the multiple pages. That's silly of me.

Welcome to Android Central! Thanks for your insight. This issue has been ongoing, and I'm really not sure what triggers it and why it hasn't been addressed yet. Let me submit this question to Android guru JR Raphael and see if he has any insight.

Can you tell us which device and messaging app you're using?

I think I just figured out why this happens...it happens to me, too... and I think the phrase 'go to' triggers it.

It's not a messaging app. It's just regular text messages that are affected

Welcome to Android Central! Thanks for the input, but it looks like the previous people in this thread still had the problem without typing "go to."

Why does my t mobile revvl keep putting a hairdresser for dreadlocks in my messages

Like 70% of the time, when I'm texting, & it doesn't matter if it's long or short, I get a location added in like right smack in the middle of my text, taking three quarters of it out which makes me have to rewrite it. I have tried all the steps I've read on here and yet the phone is still doing it!!! It's getting aggravating and frustrating!!!! I don't even like having to text anything anymore! Please help! Like I said, I've tried everything on here so far that it's been suggested and I don't know what else to do.
