Samsung Galaxy SII plus drops wifi-connection for certain apps only
Hi,
My Samsung Galaxy drops the wifi connection, but only when I use certain apps/services. These are: Google search, Gmail, Guardian, Viber, Pinterest. It works absolutely fine for other apps such as Weather Channel. I have been searching for solutions. I know there is no problem with my wifi conncection itself, as everything working perfectly well on my pc.
I have checked and eliminated the following:
- wifi sleep policy
- wifi powersave
- getting wifi to 'forget' password
- disabling download manager and re-enabling
- uninstalling Viber and re-installing (I suspect the problem may be with Viber as if I try to use for the time I have a wifi connection, it very soon says 'disconnected'
- uninstalling Guardian newspaper
- switching router on and off after trying any of the above
- switching phone off and on after trying any of the above
It's driving me crazy, so would appreciate any advice. I've had the same phone for two years and had no problems with wifi at all.
Many thanks!
Best,
Julie
