why does my s4 hang up after 5 rings when I try to make a call?

My s4 hangs up after 5 rings when I make a call. Is there anything I can do to let it ring until I hang up?

It depends who you're calling -- Most places won't let a phone just ring non-stop.

It can also be:

1. A carrier setting. They may kill a call after 30 seconds if it's not answered.

2. The number you're calling may be sending you to voicemail, and their voicemail isn't properly set up, so it hangs up on you. (My landline phone system can be set hang up after any amount of time I set, so if I see, on the CID, that it's a sales call (I don't know anyone with the CallerID of New York City), I can ignore the call and it drops the call after 6 rings.)
