why does the marshmallow update suck

I called LG they said it might be a battery malfunction but im not convinced of that. They are however sending me a free battery to help diagnose if that is in fact the problem. Otherwise i will have to send it in for a repair. according to them. So if you have any other advise i would love to hear it. Is there a way to downgrade back to lollipop. Just to see if it is in fact MM that is causing the OS to over use battery power?

Post screen shots of battery usage so people can see what you are seeing. Be sure to click on Android OS on the battery usage screen to get it's details and post that as well. Most likely a service inside Android OS is keeping the phone awake.

Bet dollars to donuts it's the logd service.

Disaster? Really? Why? Because on an internet forum there are people complaining about stuff not working correctly?

I have 3 G4's on my account, all running MM, all getting the same battery life as lollipop. None of them are on the internet complaining. Why? Because there's nothing wrong. When T-Mobile drops MM for my V10, I'll update as soon as I get notified. I'm not worried about it.

So much complaining about to many hands in the cookie jar... Google, manufacturers, carriers. Well if you want the pure Android experience, get a Nexus, where only Google touches it. Situation solved.

There are countless threads about this topic all over the G4 forum that need to be merged. Why? Because nobody wants help diagnosing what is running rogue, they just want to post and complain.

I kind of agree with you!! I mean, right now, I love my G4 even more after the Marshmallow update. True, I had some little issues with the proximity sensor and battery at first, but after recalibrating both, all good.
Why isnt there a post about the GOODS of the G4 Marshmallow update? For example, It got the notification/status bar fixed: no more pulling down and then up to expand the notifications. It's smoother and more intuitive with the Marshmallow's sweet goodies! I'm happy :)

My phone sucks since the update. My battery was bad before it, but it is worse now. I have apps that won't work and Google play store crashes whenever I try to update apps. I really don't appreciate that when I tried to contact Google about it, they didn't even acknowledge my email.

I see nothing out of the ordinary regarding software in your shots. How do you have your screen brightness set? And how does today compare to a similar day on Lollipop?

Brightness is on Automatic. Generally with Lollipop I ran 3.5-4 hours screen time and 2 hours voice, I went to bed with approximately 35% left, around 10:00pm. Battery Saving Mode for location. This isn't even close.

This is easy. Under Android System, GPS has been on and active for over 12 hours. Battery saver for location is a trash setting. Something is trying to invoke GPS but it can't do it but keeps trying and keeps it active. It's killing the battery.

I use GPS only for location and Android System shows 0 GPS usage.

How do I isolate the rogue app?

I think i may have figured my problem out but i need a fix. when i went into the android OS under my battery usage it shows that keep awake was at 6 hrs 39 min. Is there a way to turn this keep awake feature off? What is being kept awake. I have everything turned off location wifi data google now. So how do i put this thing to sleep?

That didn't work How do i post screenshots?

Hello Way Guy, Welcome to the forums.
To post screenshots click insert image and upload the picture.
Also keep awake means that one of your apps is keeping the phone from properly going to sleep. If you can figure out which app that is try to uninstall it. If you cannot figure out which app is causing this, people suggest that you factory reset your phone. However, my suggestion is to reboot your phone in safe mode. To reboot your phone in safe mode, hold down the power button then hold down the power off until it asks if you want to reboot your phone in safe mode. Good luck.
