Android Central Question

Hi,
So I added a contact to my phone today. The area code is 778. However when I go to text her the number some how has 250 infront of the 778. I keep deleting the 250 but everytime I go to text them it adds the 250 and I can't send a message to them as it is an Invalide number. Has this happened to anyone else and how can I go about stopping this from happening ?
Thanks!

Do you have 250 set as the default areacode somewhere? (Also, 778 and 236 are overlay codes for 604 and 250. Are you sure their number hasn't been changed to a 250 areacode? (I had that happen in an overlay situation - my number stayed the same, but my areacode changed.) Try putting the number in with a 250 areacode instead and see if it goes to that person, voice or text, your choice.
