Why is my app not closing even in recent tabs, no matter how hard I try?

I close my app on phone and then also close it from the recent tabs. I clear all, and again return to the recent tabs, the app is still there, but all other apps are closed. The app to be more specific is calculator. What should I do? Please help if anyone has been through this problem before, or knows what to do.

Do you have an option to "Clear All" at the top of your Recent apps screen? I don't know if every android phone has that. My Moto does, so when I tap that, it closes all the recently opened apps.

I didn't read your post as clearly as I should have. Is the calculator app a stock app or a 3rd party one? Have you tried clearing the cache. Maybe uninstall and reinstall.
