AC Question

My daughter and I both have Galaxy S6's. She has T-Mobile I have Sprint. I bought her the T-Mobile compatible phone online brand new from amazon.com. Everything works fine on her phone except when she sends/receives texts with emojis. The emojis come across as text characters not emoji picture icons. For example a smiley face emoji icon comes across as :) she has this issue when she sends/receives anyone. When I try to send her an emoji like a smiley face she receives it as a :) too.

I don't have a problem with my phone sending emojis to anyone else and I receive emojis from everyone else as emoji picture icons.

What could cause the emoji problem with my daughter's phone? Better yet, what is the solution?

Mod Note, I will move this to the s6 forum for more visibility

My best advice check to see if the text are being sent in unicode.
Open the text message
Click on settings
Then more settings
Then click on text message
Then look at in put method
And select unicode
