Gmail notification sound incorrect after Lollipop update

Since updating to Lolipop, despite having the default notification set to a different sound AND having the gmail app set to use the same notification sound, every time I get a new gmail message my Note 4 plays that obnoxious whistle notification sound. Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone know how to stop this? I really, really hate that whistle...

Try wiping the cache partition on the phone and see if that clears it up.

Thanks for the tip in clearing the cache - I did it through application manager, cleared cache only for the Gmail app and it fixed it for me on the Note 5.
