Why is my group messaging not working?

Noticed an issue that cropped up a few days ago where I wasn't receiving any group messages until hours after they were initially sent. They would appear as "Download" boxes in the individual texting conversations but not as actual texts in the group message. I can send texts to individuals just fine, it is only group messaging where it becomes a problem. I also noticed in the last few days that unless if I had a WiFi connection, I could not browse the internet, despite having mobile data on. I have checked the APN and it seems fine. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Check your messaging settings for group messaging. Settings > more settings > multimedia > group conversation
