Why is WiFi range on my new s7edge much less than my old s7edgd?

I damaged my old Samsung s7edgs. Being very happy with it I bought a new s7edge. With my old s7 I could walk around inside and out of my house, up to 30 meters no problem, WiFi stayed connected. The new s7, the WiFi drops out as soon as I leave the same room as the modem. Can anyone help me?

Are you by any chance connect to a 5 Ghz network on your new phone? Maybe your previous phone connected to or preferred a 2.4 Ghz network which has much better range.

It sounds as if the antenna isn't plugged in (inside the phone). I'd return it and ask for a working replacement.
