Why isn't my phone charging?

My battery dropped to under 5%. It charged earlier in the day. I did drop my phone, but it's in an otter box. I turned it off, plugged it in all night and it shows the charging symbol. But, it's only showing 1% and won't turn on.

Try removing and reinserting the battery.
