It was also showing that check your charger connection Make sure the cable and charger are properly connected what to do ??

The message listed in your title is one that is often seen when a device is pugged into a PC, laptop or some other device with the ability to look at your phone's storage. Clicking on the notification will show you the other options like, Transfer Pictures, Transfer Data, Charge Only, Share Internet Connection and depending on model may show more or less options similar to the ones described.
If you're getting messages asking to check if the cable is correctly connected or ones saying that your device is having trouble charging or it is slow charging due to a poor connection or low voltage and you've never gotten this message while using this charger before there's a good chance your cable is bad and should be replaced.
Having a damaged cable can also cause the first message. The message asking what action to take can be caused by a low voltage connection. Laptops and PCs often send at least a small charge to the connected device which is not as powerful as a wall charger. The device/phone then sees this low voltage as belonging to a laptop or PC.
I think it is safe to say that you should replace your charging cable. I would also discontinue the use of this bad cable until a new one can be purchased because bad connections can short and cause electrical issues, up to and including a fire.
