there is a family of LG G4's that have an issue where they will just shut down and not start back up its a software issue. My complaint is that they new about it and didn't warn owners so now I have lost all my photos, data, and contacts. There should be a law suit for all the people who have lost information that may no longer be available.

you may think your phone is fine but check the number behind the battery the HEX if the 3rd number is 8 or under it will at some time just shut off and never start back up again. Found this out when my did this today took it to sprint and found out about it. would have been nice to know this could happen and that they will replace the phone if you take it to them. Do it before it shuts down our you could lose all your data

All important data ANYWHERE should be backed up. PC, MAC, Android phone. On Android there's no excuse not to - easy to back up photos and sms to the cloud.

For those of you that are losing data, you own a phone that has built in support for external storage on the micro SD card. Why did you not change your settings to store the pictures on the SD card?

Your google account also offers free unlimited photo backup.... why don't you use it?

LG Backup will also backup all your settings and apps to the SD card... if you use it.

Yeah, I have little sympathy for people who lose ALL their data. I could train my dog to backup my phone it is so easy. When they start talking law suit, I get angry. Everything is someones fault. Gets old watching people try to find someone to blame and get compensated for being to lazy.

Definitely! And do it regularly! You never know when these phones will just die with no warning whatsoever. Happened to mine and my husbands phones. Mine was in the middle of a Disney trip and all photos were lost. Unacceptable!

Consider that most people - and I mean all ages - don't know how to back up their data. I try to help my less technically competent friends how to do this simple stuff. Luckily we have AC to help our new friends!
