AC Question

Hi,

Since my phone upgraded (to Marshmallow??) last week I have had problems connecting to WIFI.
I can access APPS on my data connection but once I switch on wifi I lose the connection.
My phone shows as 'connected' to home wifi but won't allow me access any apps but my laptop works fine (so it isn't my wifi that's at fault. Must be the phone)

Hi, welcome to the forums! Which phone do you have? Have you tried with different WiFi networks? You could try wiping the cache partition via recovery mode and see if it helps.

Hi,
Thanks for your prompt response.
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S6 and yes I have tried another wifi network which I had also previously connected to with no problems.
How do I wipe the cache partition?

Thanks for registering! I'll get in touch with the moderators and see if they can move your thread to the S6 forum where it'll get more visibility from other owners.

I remember some users having a similar problem and I think it was related to some configuration in the router (ipv6 vs ipv4 I guess). Just in case, try a restart for your router and phone. I'll try to find the thread where this problem was discussed and let you know.

Hi,

Went to 'Settings-->Mobile Networks-->Network mode'
The selected option was 'LTE/3G/2G (auto connect)'
I changed this to 3G/2G (auto connect) and it didn't make a difference.
I changed it back to 'LTE/3G/2G (auto connect)' and it worked. i.e. I could connect to wifi and run apps.
Just after I connect it flashes 00000 before the 'Vodafone IE' under Network operators (the next field down).
Looks like something is getting refreshed.
Went I did it initially it dropped the wifi connection after a while and I repeated the steps to re-establish connection.
Not sure if this is something I will have to keep doing?
Anyone got an idea whats happening here?
