WiFi Tethering

have tried a couple diff apps now and doesnt seem to work. The apps show it to be working, but show very very weak signals and cant find the network on any device.

i use wifi tether for root users and it works fine for me.

Same for me. i tethered my work atrix to my spectrum with no issues. Be aware that it will be in adhoc mode and note seen from most devices as a normal wifi connection.

my test was done with a ipad2 wifi only model. worked great. but i believe things like ps3/x360 wont see adhoc.

i was using cell phones. they were seeing my work network but not the my phone was broadcasting.

Longtime user of wifi tether for root on my DroidX, but recently upgraded to the Spectrum. I have root and can get my laptop to find the tether network, but it is seriously slow-nearly times out when loading pages. What version of wifi tether are you guys that have seen success running?

v3 beta is what I use the most.

I was using version 3.1 beta 9 (carried over via titanium backup from my DroidX) and tried 11, but same issue. Seems to work ok as a wifi spot for my android tablet, just doesn't like to produce usable speeds for laptop (Windows based). I'm thinking of going back to stock via the recovery instructions you posted and starting fresh with root and a new download of wifi tether instead of a restore from TB.

Works for me using Device profile LG Thrill and having the routing fix unchecked.

Switching profile to LG Thrill (G) seems to have improved the experience for me. I had tried a few other profiles before, just hadn't gone through them all. Thanks.

I'm having issues with this. I got the latest v3. Using profile thrill [also tried thrill (G)]. With routing fix checked and unchecked. No dice. Sees it, just won't connect.

Mabey its not the tether app causing the issue because I pay for mobile hotspot and wifi tethering causes data to drop everything every few seconds.
