Will I have to pay for Motorola to repair my Moto X?

i have a moto x i struggled to charge for a few days until it totally gave up on me had no idea why ... , i have sent the phone to motorola and decided to track the repair process which is saying 'in progress, until quote will be raised' what does this mean ? it also says water damage i had no idea it was water damage i thought the were fixing under warranty but i guess they wont now ... they also said it was beyond economical repair does this mean its completely and utterly gubbed or what ? if anyone has had a similar problem have the managed to fix it ? how much would it cot etc ?! any help / advice given would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

It sounds like it might be your charging port. You can get a replacement motherboard for around $100 and replace yourself not hard many videos on you tube. If you bring it to someone the'll probably charge around $50 to install.

Out of warranty broken screen replacement is $100 with Motorola. They will send you a refurbished phone with a good battery.
