This is pretty ridiculous.
I'm on ATT postpaid. Activated my account about 5 months ago with my N4.
Called ATT today, explained I had an N5 stuck on HSPA and wanted my line provisioned for LTE. They took my MEID and told me to reboot the phone and I was all set.
Still stuck on HSPA, I went onto chat support which was utterly useless. They pretty much said I was unsupported using an unlocked phone and that was the problem.
So at this point I can drive to an ATT store and try requesting a new sim and try to get things working that way...or I can try getting someone else's ATT LTE device, put my sim in their phone, and contact ATT with the "new" MEID, have them swap my account, and then put it back in my N5?
That's silly. I'll do it of course, but...wow.
Crazy too that some folks are having it just happen automatically. Ah well, I'm grateful the phone came so fast and doesn't have any issues. Loving it!
