WILL the XOOM be available at Costco at launch?

So, there may be an issue. I called the Wireless Advocates at my Costco and they told me you have 14 days to return something like the XOOM and 90 days for an exchange, because it's a wireless device. So it's not as great as we thought. I'm going to find out more concrete info tomorrow, I may just call Costco customer service.

Ouch, that give one pause.

You got to this before me. :) I was just at cosco chatting it up with a rep and I mentioned how the 90 day deal was awesome. He was quick to correct me. As stated above, you have 14 days.

Yeah, we'll gave them at launch. They aren't in our systems yet so I don't have pricing specifics. However, I heard from a good source that we will have the WiFi only version on the 28th.

Yeah, that's right. Costco will be carrying both, atleast that's what I've been told by more then one higher up. They were pretty sure we would have the WiFi only version on the 28th as it's supposed to be a big deal launch for Costco since we never got the iPad.
Thanks, Does the extra year on the warranty apply to the Xoom like it does for tvs and computers?

Wifi wont be out anytime soon. It would be nice but I don't see it happening. Think about how many returns stores would have from ones that bought the 3g a few days before. It would be a mess. Most of us are buying the 3g to use wifi only. If we have 14 days or whatever why would they drop it before that time is up. Most of the 3g's would be returned for wifi only.

Yeah, kind of really upset about that. Why did the carriers have to get involved? :P

exactly. Having the 3g will be nice but I don't really plan on using it

I plan on using the 3G/4G. I don't want to tether from my Droid, I don't want to destroy the battery on my commute, one of the reasons I'm getting a tablet.

Look at Costco return policy(on their website) States a 90 day return for computers, tv's etc. and cell phones. So that seems to cover wireless products.

Yeah? I don't know, the rep at the kiosk told me 14 days to return. Hope you're right! I plan on calling again tomorrow, maybe they'll have a model ready to mess around with :D

The problem is a couple of things most likely - 1) the Verizon kiosk is not really Costco, I dont think, 2) you should have 90 days to return it, but just for exchange or credit instead of money back.

For someone that buys a couple hundred bucks a month there at least, that isnt a big deal though.

You are right, naldiian, if the kiosk is not Costco then all bet are off regarding 90-day return policy. If it is a Verizon entity then it will go be Verizon rules. Everyone needs to be careful before plunking down their money.

If you are going to buy no matter what, it seems worth the risk of getting it at Costco.

My 2 cents - I ran by the Costco in South San Francisco this morning and asked about the Xoom. The guy at the mobile kiosk indicated that he didn't know when they would be getting the tablets and thought they wouldnt until they sell through all the Galaxy S tabs (at that store). He seemed to think that the 90 day return policy was in effect for these.

Stopped this afternoon at a Costco in the northern Detroit suburbs. No demo yet, but they have been fielding questions. The lady showed me a printout - $799 - $10 member discount, plus rebate for the $35 activation fee. I inquired about the possibility of $699, they said 'eventually, but who knows when.'

Were you able to ask about the 90-day return policy? I know some people are concerned if it works for the Mobile Kiosk in Costco.

Still aren't in the Costco systems yet. The units themselves aren't here in lockup yet either. I have never seen an item not be in the system a week before street date, so I'm getting a little worried.

I know our management has been briefed on the Xoom and were told we'd be carrying 2 types soon.

My local costco told me that the standard 90 day applied. They were also some type of kiosk with a different name, insisted it worked though.
