Let me give you a few anecdotes as to why this phone would prevent me from being a continuing embarrassment to myself. I've owned a Samsung Alias (the original) for over 2 years. It worked fine for the first year, however, year 2 has proven to be less than stellar.
The first issue I had was with using my hands-free ear piece. You see, I use it everyday driving home from work to make conference calls (or else I'd never leave the office). One day I was talking to my colleagues, then all of a sudden, they could no longer hear me. I replaced the ear piece but it still refused to work so I knew it was my phone. The warranty was expired at this point so I decided to make due with illegally holding the phone to my ear while driving. Apparently, nyc cops agree that this is illegal because about a month later, I was pulled over and given a ticket for talking on the phone while driving.
At this point, since I was too stubborn to get a new phone, and the coppers are always sneaking around on my commute, I decided to get creative. Every evening on the way home, I button my shirt allll the way to the top button. Then I awkwardly slide my phone between my neck and shirt, tilt my head to the side and continue to participate in my precious conference calls. I know you are questioning why I don't place the phone on my lap and use the speaker phone. This method has been tried and rejected on multiple occasions.
The most recent issue is that the only way I can use my phone is via speaker phone. The "hearing" part of the phone doesn't work anymore. As you can imaging this causes much embarrassment in a variety of venues when I'm the guy who takes all of his calls on the speaker. Yes, I get "I hate you and your family" looks all the time.
So in summation, I desperately need a new phone so that I can feel like a normal human again. No more sore necks, no angry, hateful looks by strangers....just normal human behavior, move along thank you.
Thanks for listening.
