Its for my wife

She has been hanging on to her old phone and has been having serious battery issues but will not let go of it. I hope that a FREE phone will finally get her to put down the relic she carries and embrace the new ANDROID.

...besides Im itching to skip her phone accross the lake :p

I've got an Evo and love it... but man, that physical keyboard would be nice for RDP/SSH :) Go go gadget Epic!

Amazing!

What an amazing device! 1gz processor, display, etc this would be revolutionary as I would be able to fit and use the Epic for all of my presentation/business needs in my fledgling start-up business. Not to mention the entertainment aspect as I sit in an airplane for 6 hours like a sardine! And oh yeah, I am a happy Sprint customer in St. Louis dying to take the 4G for a run!

Hey, I want an Epic 4G just as bad as the next guy, but I'm more excited as to what this means for both Sprint and the Android platform. My feeling is that the Epic 4G might be the last great 2.1 Android device launched. The end of an explosive growth era, if you will.

I think every banner Android device after this is going to have 2.2 or Gingerbread, and that will bring it's own risks and rewards once that OS if fully fleshed out. But it's just amazing if you think about the last 8 months or so from the Nexus One to the Epic 4G. What an exhilarating and unforeseen explosion we've seen for Android, and now...Sprint.

This is truly the device that would make me switch to Sprint. The combination of the Hummingbird chipset and the full qwerty will make this phone a legend. I would more than love to get my hands on it. Would march right down to the Sprint store if this showed up in my mailbox :)

Epic vs. Evo

Since I live in Jersey, which is not in a 4G area, I really wanted to have a Android world phone. But since our choices in Sprint are either Epic or Evo. Besides keyboard differences, any other things that can help me decide?

This a great opportunity to win this for my wife. She has Sprint service but luvs my Captivate. She thinks the Evo is too big to carry around but likes Android software. She saw a picture of the Epic phone with the keyboard and fell in luv with it. So hopefully if I were to win she would get this and stop giving me the sad puppy dog eyes, because her upgrade isn't until December and I don't wanna buy off contract at full price.

I have been looking at this phone as a palm pre replacement, but my wife is on the upgrade for premier members, and I'm not up till april 22nd.

full querty, front facing camera, decent specs.
Sad about the ROM nerf from the other galaxy S phones, but with Froyo you can move installs to the SD card, it sounds like the perfect upgrade!

Sprint is rocking

Currently my wife has a old Virgin Mobile phone and I would love it if she had an Epic 4G.

How am I supposed to keep up with posts, Phil? There are so many people in the forum now! Oh well, good luck everyone!

Im stoked to check this out. Picking one up for my wife today. Im not gonna lie, Im more excited about it then she is, lol.

I went to my local Best Buy to see how it felt. Wasn't a 'real' model, but a mannequin. I knew the specs on the beast, but I wanted to get a feel for it before considering it as my next phone. To add, I wanted to see how it measured up to the EVO for myself. Though it was a fake one -- I was uber impressed. It's huge, but with subtlety. The keyboard felt comfortable in hand. Barring an awesome miracle (winning this contest), I'm buying the EPIC in October when my eligibility comes up. This phone, along with the EVO and DROID series really advances the Android movement.

Saw it last week-nice phone

Got my hands on it at the launch last week. I was most impressed by the screen and how snappy fast it was.

I'm supercurious about the keyboard. I wouldn't think I'd need one, but I hear that it comes in handy for typing in passwords and general typing with gloves in the winter.

epic or evo?

I have a Evo and I bought my wife a Evo but I'm so damn curious about the epic , did I screw up and get evos and I should have waited ....I don't know...love my Evo but the question lingers.

Have seen the mock, and the form factor is gorgeous. The keyboard is by far the best on any Android device. I'd love to replace my aging Instinct with this phone. The Instinct was epic as well, an epic fail.

Super AMOLED

I currently have a Hero. It seemed like the best of the best when it first came to the US. Unfortunately it quickly went downhill with the release of the Droid and then the Evo.

One thing that I really like about the Epic 4G as compared to the Evo is the fact that it has a Super AMOLED screen. I can only imagine how much that actually improves battery life along with making a beautiful picture.

I likely won't be able to upgrade my phone on my own for a while & I would love it if some good Samaritan would give me an Epic 4G.

Holy cow, in the time it took me to post, there are 7 more posts... I hope you have a random number generator that goes fairly high! Might be hard to pick a random entry otherwise!!! Seems like the masses LOVE this phone.
