Hey guys,
Trying to get my wife to switch to Android from my old pre. But of course with money being tight as usual, why not try to win one right? This would be the perfect phone for her because it's Android which we all love and she'd still have a physical keyboard which she can't live without...

I Would Like To Win A New Epic For My Wife, She Has Been Suffering With Her Samsung Instinct For Almost Two Years Now And I would Like To See Here Get One Of These Wonderful Phones. She Does Ton Of Volunteer Work ( in addition to working full time ) And Having The Access To All Her Information On Her Phone Would Lessen The Load She Carries....

the keyboard on this thing looks great. spaced out and tactile! wont lie, i miss the keyboard moving from blackberry to android. Also interested to see if the front facing cameras and video chat actually takes off as a viable carrier supported feature!

I too came from an iPhone and went to the EVO (main reason was Sprint plans, EVO just sealed the deal). Anyone that has hands on time with the Galaxy launcher, how would you compare it to LauncherPro? Also, does anyone have some pics with a size comparison betwen the EVO and the Epic?

My wife needs to get of Virgin mobile and onto an Epic 4G. I have a EVO 4G and with the both of us having great Android phones we can use all features to better our relationship.

Recent Android convert (EVO 4G) and I'm thoroughly impressed with the OS and wth Sprint's 3G and 4G coverage. But I'd love a physical keyboard, and oh, that screen!

I just can't decide on all these new Android phones...

I am pretty agnostic to carriers though I see no compelling reason to jump to Verizon (price and features just don't stack up against Sprint or TMo), and I don't have a good feeling about At&t's handling of Android..

I love the screen on the Galaxy S line
I want want a front-facing camera which only the Epic out of the galaxy line has.
But I am not sure I want the bulk and mechanics of a keyboard that the Epic has.

There is the EVO, but it's been out of stock forever and the whole 30fps-cap-gate leaves kind of a sour taste.

Or should I just wait for that elusive dual-core HSDPA+ phone on TMO.. but then again I don't know what kind of screen those will have.

Comparison?

Of course I'd love to win the phone, but...

Since the odds are against me (with all the other folks entering), I'd like to use this as an opportunity to ask if anyone has seen a meaningful and/or detailed comparison between the Samsung Android UI and the HTC Sense UI that is on the Evo 4G??? I mean the Epic is... well... ummm "epic" but if the UI isn't as good as the Evo... then I think I'd stick with the Evo.... but if it's comparable (or even better)... well then the choice gets a whole hell of a lot harder...

I love my Moment.. havent had the little problems that others have seen to have, that being said.. the Epic would be an excellent upgrade for me! Too bad my upgrade isnt due till december! doh!

I own two EVO's one of course is the wife?s and one is mine. I personally love my EVO, love the slate form factor and love the screen. My wife loves that it's an iphone like device that isn't an iphone and isn't limited like an iphone. On comes the EPIC 4G.... I like Samsung, but I've been burned (as most of us I'm sure) by bad phones like the IStink or the even bigger failure the IStink S30.... 'The money I spent...' In any case, I believe this will be a great hope for Samsung (could have chosen a better name for there UI... seriously touch wiz, these two words should never be in the same sentence, let alone allowed to describe an interface but I digress) Here's to the New Epic 4G and it's inclusion to the Sprint family may the EVO and Epic play nice together and kick the competition (iphony) to the side.

Might I add, thank God for Google and Android. If it wasn't for the effort put forth by Google none of us would even be here to enjoy the fruit's of there labors let alone the fruit's of the grand efforts of our community members. From the Dev's to the Mod's to us lowly members I say..... Thank you and I wouldn't mind trying a new piece of hardware, thanks Android central!

i have an iphone but im glad im switching over to android,i think the epic 4g is the best galaxy s phone to launch since it has a full hardware keyboard,and a FFC,oh i forgot to mention 4g!sprint and android will defeat att,mr jobs,and that isuck. Peace

So yes, it would be nice to be "randomly" selected to win the Epic. It also just be perfect to add to my Evo.

Coming from Blackberry, I have found Android to be so much more easier and fun to use. I love the Evo and I can imagine the Epic to be just as great. I find myself to enjoy it so much, that my girlfriend gets mad at me for always being on my phone (she is still on Blackberry). I figured if I get this, she could take the Epic and see how much fun Android can be, and then I can get back at her for her phone.

Plus, the Epic has the slide out keyboard and that's what she loves about Blackberry, she couldn't to the touchscreen keyboard.

I just wanted to chime in and say that I hope whoever wins this makes a YouTube video of his or herself with the nice shiny new toy. Bonus points if you get a squirrel on video from the phone's camera.

Alas, I'm a gadget fiend on a tight budget. Got a nanny, a mortgage, 3 kids including 2-yr-old twins (woe is me, or something!) I've been geeking out on my Hero for so long, installing CM6 nightlies almost every night just to try to eek every last bit of performance out of it, but its no use. While the development community is great, the hardware just can't provide the snappy performance I expect.

I've been so pumped about the Epic ever since I first learned of it. I've got a problem, obsessively reading every last bit of news on a device I won't be able to purchase. I just can't spring the $250 right now or in the foreseeable future. I'm going to BestBuy this afternoon just to gawk and be jealous.
