Win a free Epic 4G!

About to renew on Verizon to my first smart phone, but the Epic is making me think about switching. The phone seems to live up to it's name, for the most part.

I would love to win an Epic 4g!! The phone looks very solid from all of the reviews I have seen and Samsung always puts out great products. In the event that I would win this phone, I would probably give to my best buddy who is still on an old LG Flip phone. That would sure make his day :)

Epic 4G. I want an Epic 4G.

4G>3G. Super AMOLED>Retina. 4">3.5". Sprint>ATT. Please let me show my friends how much they are missing by choosing the i***ne over Android.

I'd like an Epic 4g because I live close enough to a wimax area that I should be able to test out the speeds for myself.

Not to mention it's been far too long since I've written a decent phone review.

5 reasons why I'd love to have this phone.

I'm currently still under contract with t-mo G1, which I bought March 2009 and still love. That said, I think that the Epic, if free, would be inspiring enough for early contract termination:

  1. The Epic is the only keyboard that matches what I love about the G1 keyboard - 5 rows! The upcoming G2 keyboard won't be so full, so in my head, the Epic IS the G2.
  2. I would love to have the internal memory upgrade, the larger screen, the processor speed boost, and the network speed to actually use the phone the way I'd like to. There are some things that rooting can't totally help.
  3. Sprint's network has free minutes after 7pm. I really could have used that last night, when my mom decided to fill me in on every minute of her weekend from 6pm to 9pm.
  4. If chosen, I'll give my G1 to my non-gadget-y boyfriend, who currently has a broken flip-phone. This would have two effects: he'd be better able to keep up with his work with the smartphone abilities, and I'd be more attracted to him frankly. His phone is in terrible shape.
  5. My birthday is coming up. It would be a fantastic gift.

Aside from the contest, I read Android Central daily, though I've never posted to the forums before. I don't always have the time to listen to the podcasts, but I'm a pretty loyal fan of all things Android. I like to think that I've probably turned at least 10 people into Android people and I refer them to this site often since the learning curve is so serious for those coming from other phones. Keep up the good work. :D

Even though I'm an EVO owner and proud of it by the way, I had to go by my local Sprint store last night to get a glimpse of the Epic 4G. It's indeed an impressive device. I wouldn't kill anyone for this phone, but I wouldn't be mad either if I won this device. PICK ME!!!

Beautiful phone.

All of the Galaxy series are gorgeous, and this one is no different. The screen, the processor, even the keyboard, all look wonderful.

I can"t wait!!!!!!!!

I am waiting for Sprint to allow the Sero plans to accept Android phones. Hopefully on Oct 1st i'll be able to get my Epic! You guys and gals getting your phones today are soooo lucky! i'm stuck using a PC Android emulator just to get my fix :D

Could the Epic 4G be my first full time android smarthphone? Well H*llz yea if I win :) or until new webos headset are released :)
plus it would be a good bday gift.
S/N you guys @ androidcentral and the entire smartphone experts network do a great job !!

I love my EVO, but i miss the keyboard of the PRE, i will like the Samsung Epic to get back the keyboard, android and 4g with the best cell company in america Sprint.

please android central i need this phone!!! my gf isnt elidgible for the upgrade and i think she should have the best phone and OS on the market!!!

Still debating on whether to return my EVO for the Epic or not. I had an iPhone for 2 1/2 years prior to getting my EVO so I am used to not having a physical keyboard - not a deal breaker/maker for me. The Epic's screen looks really nice (makes the EVO look washed out), but I am disappointed with the battery life reports I am seeing, and from all accounts that is due to the screen.

I will take the free phone! My wife needs it. She has my old Palm Pre, but ever since she tried my EVO, she wants an Android phone.

I have the EVO and love my android phone, but now I'm trying to get my wife into the world of smart phones and she wants a physical keyboard, that makes the Epic 4G a prime contender.

BTW, thanks Android Central for helping me because a quick learn as a former Blackberry user.

If I win this Epic 4G, I plan on holstering it along with my EVO 4G on either side of my hips and having both 4” screens directed at each other thereby creating a mini 4G Hadron collider. The protons crashing into each other will create mini black holes in my abdominal/pelvic region and over time transform me to Seth from Street Fighter 4.
