I just picked up my Epic today! I am THRILLED to have a new smartphone, especially since my (5th) palm pre wouldnt work except in speakerphone for placing calls (fail)!

So far, I LOVE the screen, it is INSANELY bright and colorful! I am hoping 2.2 with flash comes sooner rather than later...having 2.1 out of the box is a bit of a disappointment...

Other than that, no complaints so far. The keyboard is solid (except for the smiley face key...what GENIUS thought that one up?), and I got gmail and yahoo mail up and running, downloaded a couple of essential apps (barcode reader and file manager) and played with the camera a bit (not up to stand alone camera quality, but getting better!)

Overall, I am VERY impressed with the phone, and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it! I will post more impressions as I learn the device and play with it some more...(this is my first Android phone, so I am kinda noobish right now!)

The Epic has a nice screen that I would love to have. Ive played with the Vibrant and Captivate but since Im on Sprint the Epic is the choice.

Epic 4G - Only if it was cheaper

$249.99 is a bit pricey as compared to all the other galaxy phones.
Especially with the one on T-Mobile went for $0.01 a week or so back.
Amazon should do that for the Epic 4G as well.

Then these things would sell, sell, sell.

I'd love to get this phone for my fiance and upgrade her from her HTC Hero to a top of the line Android Device, the Samsung Epic. Me? I'm pretty happy with my EVO for the time being...

A free Epic would totally silence the $10 a month premium data fee complaint...at least for a couple of years.

The Epic 4g is one of the best if not the best phone in the market, ive never had a smartphone but i know what android is about. i had the g1 when it first came out and ever since i was hooked on android. i really wish i could have this phone. please pick me

I hope of win this bad boy! I wanna be able to switch off between my Evo and play around with them media hub! Plus hacking this thing should be easy since its 2.1! That should expect to open some goodies! OMG Loading on some CM6.....the possibilities!

I am really excited about the Epic 4G. I switched over to Android last February with the Samsung Moment. I have NO idea why I spent so much time researching it all out because once I made the switch from the Blackberry Pearl, it was clear within 30 seconds my choice was a no brainer. Android rules!

At the time, the debate was between the Hero and the Moment and I made the decision for the Moment. Then the EVO comes out and I'm drooling over it. I was sure just 2 months ago that the EVO was my next phone-- how could anything come out better.

Then we see the Epic 4G come out. I'm already used to a physical keyboard with the Moment and I have to tell you that everything about the Epic's keyboard makes me look at my keyboard and think, "How can anybody be content with only 4 rows of keys. I NEED that 5th row.

And I'm telling you, I'm beginning to squint at my 3.2" screen now that I see what a real cellphone screen is supposed to look like.

I WANT that processor. I WANT that screen. I want everything about it. If I don't win it, I sure hope the price drops down to the $149/$99 range by the time my contract is up. February is 6 WHOLE MONTHS AWAY!!! I CAN'T WAIT THAT LONG!!!!

I am so close to switching from Sprint to iPhone...this win would keep me with Sprint!

Sprint's loyalty is not a priority. I was on the phone with retention and all they could do was give me a $50 discount on the HTC Hero...WOW!

I want the Epic but for $250...forget it. Hope I win.

Epic vs. Evo? Epic wins hands down.

Just until a few weeks ago I was on the fence about which one of these phones I should get, but after reading the reviews on the Epic, I'm absolutely sure this is the one for me. There were many reasons I believe the Epic edges out the Evo:

• Beautiful 4.0" Super AMOLED Screen (have seen it up close and it is absolutely stunning)
• Buttery Smooth 1Ghz Hummingbird Processor
• Better battery life than Evo
• DLNA (don't want to put extra $$ into HDMI cable)
• Keyboard (makes emailing and editing large docs 100 times easier)
• 5.0 MP camera (not as great resolution wise, but people say it matches the Evo, and in some cases exceeds its picture quality)

I've tried the other Galaxy S phones, but it always seemed like there were things missing. The Epic 4g fixes this problem by adding in everything the other Galaxy phones don't have. For me, the Epic 4g is the must have phone this year by far.
