I love this device for the balance it strikes in terms of hardware and software(OS mostly), lifestyle-smartphone integration, and overall impact as a long-time, loyal Sprint customer.
In previous smartphones I've own, granted mostly WinMo, but there has always been a trade-off between the built-in hardware and the OS. Either not enough memory to quiclkly and efficiently run WinMo(wow, did I just use efficiently and WinMo in the same sentence?! lol) or no front-facing camera for video-conferencing, or sporadic program installation on SD(effective anyway). Even the 4.3" screen is more mated to the smartphone user's #1 playtime activity: web browsing. More to see, less scrolling and even flash(even if it's lite!) make for an overall enjoyable internet experience!
In today's world, our lives are constantly being "upgraded" through the various forms of social, internet and radio(music), television and film media outlets. Android provides the power to make integration of these outlets possible in the palm of your hand, anytime, anywhere. The open-sourced applications(Android Market) enhance this integration while small footprint(OS and apps) make it extremely quick to access information across these outlets. Android makes this device exactly what a smartphone should be: powerful, efficient, and intergrated.
I also love what this device represents for Sprint as an organization. I've been a customer for over 12 years and to see a device manufacturer like HTC build something this good for a company like Sprint(not GSM, nor #1) speaks volumes of the partnership between the two companies and the desire to have that continue. The outlook for me to remain a long-term and loyal Sprint customer is good!
The Evo represents an overall upgrade in daily lifestyle. From its well-mated hardware-software specifications to Android Market to Sprint 4g service, I look for this device to actually become more integrated in my life than any other smartphone I have ever owned.
