i had a 3 month old Moto X (2nd gen) that i took to Europe for a family vacation. 2 weeks after i returned, on the eve of my surgery, the phone stopped working. I unplugged it from the charger before leaving for the hospital and the screen froze on the lock screen. then the screen went black. and the phone has not responded to power button, charging, plugging into the computer, hard resets, anything. So trapped in my (now) 4 month old Moto X are memories of a once in a lifetime trip, along with memories of my new niece and nephew. Soon to be gone because Motorola service will wipe all memory as part of the "repair" process. I don't have unlimited data or cloud storage, and with my procedure/lab tests/pre-op tests on the horizon data backup was not a priority, but I suppose it's my fault for assuming a 3 month old phone wouldn't brick itself for no apparent reason? a nexus 5x would be sweet but it pales to the hurt of lost memories and only adds to the emotional drain of the recent physical ordeal.
