[WIP][ROM] CyanogenMod 9 for LG Optimus S (Yes, it's ICS!)

This is awesome, I can't wait for it to be more functional. I have time, love learning, and am moderately capable of doing so when I try, lol, where do I go to start to learn how to help develop things like this? Or even apps? Would it help if I learn that first? Where do I start to learn? Please help, theses Androids interest me a lot, I think I could help us all in the long run

1. Look into and get familiar with Linux, if you are not already. Android is a layer that runs on a Linux OS.

2. Root, recovery, ROM your device.

3. Start playing with theming, decompiling and recompiling APK's.

I was doing exactly that when my computer crapped out on me. :'(

Please read this. It has everything you need to know to get started.

However, I would not recommend installing this ROM. It is not being actively developed. thekraven's CM9 ICS ROM is much farther along and is being actively developed. Read more here.

I found a app used to remap your hardware buttons works on the optimus s I was able to remap my power button as home and still still works for normal function when held
Also I get keyboard issues cannot control curser for misstypes
UMS notification won't go away (Thw app earler I was refering to is called Buttonremapper from xda free download)

i know 4.0 has issues with ad hoc. is there a way to add support for future dev?


Edit: oh and thanks Va1ha11a, i was on my phone that day with 4.0 alpha.0 so had some issues
Edit2: and i do have my opt s overclocked at 787MHz with the current iScream kernel get freeze sometimes but its not to where i cant use the phone.

Kraven's Cold as Ice CM9 is a bit farther along than this. For that, you'll have to downgrade to zvd baseband.
