Wireless charging stand

Everyone wanted wireless charging.

How many people would shell out $1k for a phone with a plastic back and still consider it "premium".

I for one did NOT want wireless charging. It seems like the dumbest feature outside of animoji's and face ID. Until you can wirelessly charge anywhere in a room from a device, I have zero interest in or reason to use or want wireless charging.

I also don't give two s's what the phone's back is made out of. Plastic or metal is fine with me. Glass is not. But it doesn't matter in the slightest since I'm going to put a case on the phone anyways.

Having had a phone since the OG Droid, I've never had a need for a waterproof/resistant phone, either.

We gave up the most critical feature - a user-replaceable battery - for these stupid gimmicks.

Is that really critical anymore? I havent had a phone that didnt last through the day in many years. The only time I remember taking a battery out was for all the blackberry-battery-pulls. Clearly the iPhone made the non-replaceable battery the standard with their design and everyone else followed suit. TBH, I dont think Ive EVER heard of an iPhone user complaining that they didnt have a removable battery. This seems to only come from the Android community. Why?

Apple users didn't get a chance to experience removable battery, otherwise they would complain also .

But at this point, I'm use to the way it is .

Apple users weren't just born Apple users lol, they had to have had a phone with removable battery before it.

Hahaha...true
Yeah before Apple and Android existed, it was all about BlackBerry with removal batteries. as you also said, we've adapted and gotten used to certain things now since the industry has changed forever.

Yeah what else can you do ,I'm fine without it as I've replaced sealed battery before .

Yes, I bought the stand for my Pixel 3 and use it on my nightstand. I also have an Anker stand for my office, which was cheaper, but the Pixel stand is nicer-looking. I just traded in my P3 for a Samsung Galaxy S10e, which is very nice, and it works with the Pixel stand as a charger. (Pretty sure I'm trading in the S10e for the Pixel 4, when that comes out.)

I bought mine when they had a promo so I got 2 for $100. Keep one at work and use the other at home. I've been missing wireless charging since I had to give up my Palm Pre in 2011. I do like that I can program them differently as I use them differently at home vs at work. I do, however, wish that there was more customization than just screen off and DnD.

Sounds like a good deal. I wasn't so lucky when I bought my phone a couple weeks ago at this point. Oh well.

I bought it almost for free when the price on the Google store had dropped to $50 during some sale and I was able to use a $50 promotional credit I had for pre ordering Pixel 3. However, I really hated using it and ended up returning it. It kept it on my bedside and wanted to use it for overnight charging and the morning alarm features and such other things that looked great when I decided to buy it. However, the phone would hardly ever show fast charging. Most of the time it was charging slowly. Even worse, I would wake up to an over heated phone with somewhere around 70% battery and showing me that the battery was actually draining. I tried updates for the Pixel stand software, looking for a solution in some forums where people said that it was the latest update that screwed it up and the older version was fine, I even tried that. I tried to ensure I was placing the phone the right way and what not. I completely lost it when I woke up to a really heated up phone with 20% battery and discharging one day and decided to return it within a week of buying it. I thought that even trying to see if this issue can be fixed was going to end up damaging my phone and reducing its life.

I bought one made by Anker for $20.
With the power supply I have, only does slow charge but since the phone sits on it all night, not an issue. Also I don't have the Google assistant, but it sits next to my Amazon Echo, that's also not an issue.
