With the end of the Note, are you done upgrading? Are you done with Samsung?

Don't know if it's been mentioned anywhere on the forums yet but Samsung just patented a couple new S Pen designs for a built in S Pen with camera on it.

They move the pen slot to the top if the phone and on one design the S Pen functions as a pop up selfie camera, the other design had the rear camera modules integrated with the pen so they would slide out with it.

While no name is given for a potential phone the designs look like it's meant to integrate into a new Note phone, it's not on a foldable device.

I heard that rumors about built in camera for s pen couple years ago , maybe at time of the Note 9

If that's how trademarks work then that gives us hope. Like I said there was rumor/mention by Samsung exec of the Note being skipped this year and coming back next year. If that's the case then I hope it keeps it current signature "look" as shown in that Note 21 render. Man, there is just something about that squared corners and thin profile that for me make it look much better than the S series phones.

I, too, am a fan of the squared form, thin profile, and a flat screen. The current Note 20 5G is very similar to the Note 5 I had years ago, and I'd almost forgotten how much better a flat screen was compared to a curved one. I saw that Note 21 render, and my mouth started to water...

Oh no, built in camera on the Spen. That sounds like it will be popcorn time in the forums. I can see it now, the camera won't zoom 100x, the camera is only 2MP, it takes to long for pictures to transfer to the phone, can't take multi pics, not enough storage in the Spen, no SD card slot in the Spen, and the list goes on. I'm being funny here, but there will be those types of posts on Spen with a camera.

Now I do like idea of built in Spen, that needs to be for all phones. Let's face it, Spen is no longer note exclusive.

But internal storage is exclusive to the note which makes it the only samsung phone to do that. Yeah the S21 has it, but in order to not have to carry around the pen separately you need to buy a case (and the pen) and add extra wideness to the phone. I don't care if the specs are the same to the S series, the internal storage is what drives people to the note. If they are hell bent on getting rid of the note then make a S22 Ultra and a S22 ultra IP (internal pen) for a hundred bucks more or something. They would probably have to knock off a 200/300 mah on the battery to make room. And I really don't need a camera on a spen.

Yes, but I don't think the note is sticking around as a stand alone phone. I see it as others have said, S series note edition. Although Samsung should have a S series, fold series, and a note series, I know some on here that will buy every one of them, lol.

I will say this for me, I think they need to concentrate on making a fold with Spen and silo. I've had both, and I can tell you that I use the Spen on the fold more then I have combined with the notes, and I had every note since the note 3. The big screen makes the Spen of value.

I agree, I think a camera in the Spen is just a sales gimmick. It's a neat thing at first that never gets used. Besides, how good of camera could it be anyway.

The fold pricing is the deal breaker for me. If they could get it down to 1500, maybe i might go for it. But right now at 1800, with an OK but interior camera setup to the S and Note series, I will pass.

If it takes the place of the front facing camera and doesn't add any more size to the current S-Pen or just slightly... I could be ok with it I guess. The current front is 10mp so the lens is probably no wider than the current S-Pen.

It would be better than a blurry under screen front camera currently. And personally I don't take many selfies or Zoom calls so I'd prefer a blemish-free screen. The silo would have to be relocated to the top-left so that you can pop it out for those occasional needs.

Well the fold dropped in price this year. I think it'll get there, it's like any other new technology, it's pricey up front and drops in price later. The note was expensive and lacked features, and was criticized when it was released also.

Went with a N20U and 1tb micro sd. Upgraded from N10+ after two years. Happy with upgrade and the 865+ does not run got like the 888.

There are conflicting stories at the minute, the S22 Ultra has an S pen slot with slightly wider body to accommodate a larger battery (which has always been an issue with the Note line)
Or there is no Note and the S Pen will continue to be an accessory.

For me, no S Pen slot, no Note, end of, but if the rumour is correct and the S22 Ultra becomes the Note with a Pen slot then that could be interesting.
