with the fragile camera glass on the v20, anybody returning it?

Do me a favor.....

......order yourself any plastic screen protector and make the cut out for the camera lens glass and apply it. It should protect the glass from accidentally shattering. If you can't at least do that.....get yourself another phone and be done with it.

I can't imagine a plastic cover over a camera lens helping with picture quality!

The one that came with the V20 has openings for the lenses, but those open areas are exposed to scratches. Yes, BTW if covering the lenses as well. Especially for low light and bright light shots.

Catch is you would be paying the deductible for something you probably should not have if as simple to crack as apparently so (unless dropped the device).

deductible is by carriers there no deductible by best buy protection plan.

The design is very similar to the G5. I replaced the lens on the G5 in under 5 minutes from the outside of the phone. Replacement cost for the lens 7.99 and up to 20 dollars for OEM lens.

where did you get the replacements lens? did you find the V20 lens anywhere?

I'm actually going to apply a thicker film - 3M clear bra for cars - $2.99 on Amazon https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZN1IK9/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I don't think getting a quality one will interfere much and its much better than NOT having it and letting it shatter so pick your poison wisely!

The one company that makes phone skins has a decal that covers the camera glass, I remember seeing it in a previous thread on here.

We as a people have become so afraid of our shadow and feeling entitled to the point that rumor of something being able to scratch potentially makes us not want it. We hear that someone broke a camera lense and we don't want it becuase it might happen to me. We think that there has to be a perfect fit out there and when there isn't companies shall pay! Everyone is so wrapped up in them deserving so much more than anyone else that they are willing to overlook hundreds of amazing things to find the one flaw that they don't even experience and consider something damned based on just someone else's experince. This is where we are now. One story here or there means that the entire product line is doomed.

Here's something that will shock you. Your computer, failed, for someone. Your car, failed in hundreds of ways, for someone. Your watch stopped working, for someone. Every product that has ever existed on a mass production level has had some fail. It is what happens. If you cannot live with that you need to buy everything one off and hand made. You need to live in a cabin you built by your own hands so that if there is a problem you can fix it. Nothing can ever be made for to wear because some one somewhere had stitches pop out and fail on them.

To this thread, I say, get over yourself and realize that things are wrong with eveything out there. You'll never find something that is without flaws. Including you.

I think what made this situation worse is going through the note 7 issues. It's just taxing on the mind

The Pixel did far worse than the LG V20 in this drop test. It cracked by just falling on its side, then screen shattered from a normal drop (which V20 didn't shatter at all until they went up to 7 feet).

As with all drop tests though -- just depends on the angel it falls. Always has -- always will. I have had a friend drop his down stairs and it was fine (just some scuffs) ... Whereas another friend was sitting in a chair and their phone slowly slid off their lap onto the floor and was completely shattered.
