wont recognice the usb cable on my laptop (Windows 7)

hello, i tried so many times to transfer files (music, photos) from my lap top (windos 7) to my N4,
and wont recognice the usb cable conection, the USB tethering option, its disabled, just charging on batery its shown,
i trien turning it off and on again while conected and just show tetherin enabled but wont let me check toactivate the square,
so what can i do to just plug and transfer files?

Try uninstalling the Nexus 4 / Google drivers from your phone & reconnect. The PC should then reinstall the correct drivers, I suspect your pc is using some older android drivers. If you are still having problems try Airdroid, it works well to transfer files to & from your phone. The Airdroid 2 Beta works even better.

If you haven't already, be sure to try a different USB port on your PC. Sounds crazy I know, but driver confusion happens on a port-by-port basis in Windows.
