Woohoo! 25 cent app sale at Google Play

I just grabbed it because it was on sale. Is there a hidden benefit that I don't see on the surface?

I think the primary benefit is the ability to use landscape mode unrooted. I haven't tried any other launchers besides Nova and the stock one, but at the very least, it provides more options for customization (e.g. tabs and folders in the app drawer, assigning finger movements, etc).

Is Nova Launcher worth it? I am still using the default Android one...
I still prefer the Apex launcher. it has extra customization in free version. try it out. there is free for Nova too..

I think free Apex makes me happy so i will stik with it.

Thanks. I was originally trying it out on my Asus Slider and it doesn't work well, the forced toolbar at the bottom hides icons that are on the bottom of my home screens. This is definitely made for phones. It seems to work on my phone and Nexus 7. I haven't found the benefit yet. I already have Rotation Locker on my Nexus and that cured the home screen rotation issue. I loaded nova on my Droid 4 and the home screen doesn't rotate so I'm not sure what the benefit is, I guess the customizing can be fun.

Still not happy that a five day sale was basically a gamers sale. Only very few apps for lifestyle, productivity or businesses use.
Oh well maybe next time.

This isn't part of the app sale, but in an Android Central article about the sale ( http://www.androidcentral.com/google-play-025-sale-continues-fresh-batch-cheap-apps ), member leobloom added a comment about the always free BBC Good Food app.

The app comes with one recipe book included, but 7 additional books are available as in-app purchases. Normally these books are ?1.49 each (I assume $1.49, also), but for a limited time they are free to download. They're about 18 to 26 MB each.

I downloaded it and it's a nice app, though I don't know if the recipes are any good yet! So if you do any cooking, maybe give it a try.

The BBC Good Food app has a conversion feature for those of us who haven't grown up with metric. That's very handy with some of my dead tree cookbooks too.

Picked up Batman, Great Big War Game, Ski Safari, FIFA 12, Tiny Bang Story, Cut The Rope, Symphony of Eternity and the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy!!! My free ?15 has gone a long way!!!

Lol so glad I got the 16gb, I had no idea how much of an app hoarder I'd be :P. 40mb of recipes when I never cook? DOESNT MATTER, ONE DAY I MIGHT USE IT.

Batman does have in-app purchases. It's completely great regardless.

Boo! 25? Google Play Store sale is over.

I am sad, although the limited storage on my Nexus 7 is relieved.

I bought plenty! I picks up the Dark Knight Rises game, Sketchbook Pro, and some other cool finds. It ended too soon!

I bought sketchbook mobile not knowing the tablet version would be in sale.

Me too. Does it matter though? Do you expect problems? The mobile version was listed a "compatible" with the Nex7. I haven't really had time to test it much.

About the only way I can keep track of all of the things I need to get done is using some kind of task list.
I have not tried too many different ones, though. The one O'm using now is GTasks. Stays synchronized with my Google Calendar tasks so my list is consistent across all of my devices.

Damn! I paid a dollar last month! Luckily, it's a pretty good app and was worth that large sum of money. Of course, I rarely use it, because that would mean I would actually have to do stuff, like tasks.

I have both SketchBook Pro and SketchBook Mobile. Both work fine.

The mobile version is portrait mode only, whereas the pro version is landscape mode only.

Also, the pro version lets you: dock the tool bars (implements on the left, colors on the right); has more tools and drawing options, like 2 erasers, 7 patterns and 11 instrument types, with more extensive customization of those; straight and arc drawing guidelines; and an easier to use text input function.

If you're more serious about drawing, the pro version is better for you. If you don't have any drawing talent (like me) and just want something to scribble and goof around on, the mobile version is all you need. The only reason I got the pro version was the price. I'll probably remove the mobile version, though I do like the option of using it in portrait mode.

now i'm a little bummed that i didnt get the mobile version too, portrait mode would be great because im still working on drawing without having my hand laid on the tablet >.<
though the pro version does give you more brushes, layers, levels of undo, etc....
